Re: 72 c-10 shorty
was going to go with white face gauges, and had ordered a sticker kit from e-bay but stumbled across a really clean gauge set. I tore it apart and cleaned everything up inside. I already had cleaned my other set so Im going to rob the lense and order a new bezel. i had sanded the original lense with 3000 grit paper and polished it and it looks like new. also got a painless wiring kit from my friend mike, that hes already put together for me so all I have to do is put it in and plug it all together.

Re: 72 c-10 shorty
cleaned and repaired original bezel. a little paint and some elbow grease goes along ways sometimes. painted up the bezel and repainted the needles on the gauges. I had already polished the the gauge faces.

Re: 72 c-10 shorty
I made it out to the shop tonight and got my rad support sand blasted and hung my fenders just to get them out of the shed. was planning on painting the inside of the fenders and get the rad support done as well, but as always someone else needed my help so I got stuck fabricating snow plow mounts instead! never fails, someone always wants my time.lol thats what good friends do!!! right?????

Re: 72 c-10 shorty
got out to the shop last night and managed to get my fenders and steering coloum painted. hit a road check last night on the way home to find out my registration had expired.(not to bright) got a 143.00 dollar ticket. they had two impaireds on the go so I didnt get impounded. that would have put the icing on the cake this week!!

Truck is looking really good Brent! Really digging the steering column and wheel.
I feel out of my comfort zone on the GM forums

Re: 72 c-10 shorty
got a chance to work on the drivers door. a few hours here and there. I knew these doors were solid, and fairly clean, but the insides were beat!! It took me longer to bodywork the inside then the outside. no rust, just lots of time.I primed the inside one evening and the outside last night. went out a blocked the door once, knew I had to reprime! and found only a few little things and reprimed. will get the inside painted and hung on the truck before I go any further with the outside.

Re: 72 c-10 shorty
got the right door in primer yesterday! hung the drivers door to get it out of the way. I need to finish off the inside of the cab and paint the remaining pieces orange. got the glove box door, stereo blank plate and the ash tray all ready, just need a few nights of paint work. will attempt to get the passenger door blocked and reprimed tonight if my girls cool with it, which she always is.
