Re: Father/Son '77 Stepper
I want to find that rustoleum red in a gallon to spray the entire truck, but I havent had any luck anywhere. It is sharp considering it came out of a can that had an "amatuer" painter behind the nozzle....if anyone has any leads on getting this in a gallon, PLEASE let me know!!!

Re: Father/Son '77 Stepper
Our first disaster with the build....all the time I spent sanding priming sanding painting sanding painting.....we attached the hood and when we went to close it..........the damn thing bent!!!! The hinges and springs seem to be so stiff, the hood buckled. The entire neighborhood got a lesson in language NOT found in websters. We actually got the bed moved into the garage to begin the cleaning and prepping and now we have to make room to redo another hood. Even the pics that I took didnt turn out.....how messed up is THAT???

Alignment of the planets? j/k
For me, whenever I take short cuts stuff heads south quickly. Some guys call it Murphy's Law, I don't know anyone named Murphy so I call it fate. |

Re: Father/Son '77 Stepper
Man...I didnt think we took any short cuts. The hinges and springs both seemed easy to move yet not to easy and there was no side to side movement in the hinges.....the guy helping us assemble it was floored also. Oh well I'm not going to dwell on it, just paint another dang hood and hope for the best.

Re: Father/Son '77 Stepper
i think someone makes inner structures for these trucks, if not take the springs out of the hinges and carry a good 2x4 with you

Re: Father/Son '77 Stepper
Nothing new at this time. I took a job an hour from home and it is destroying any play time I have had. We did some horse trading and I will update what that was all about. The guy putting the stepper together as well as myself both came out ahead. I will get some updates on here in a little bit.

Re: Father/Son '77 Stepper
Here is where we stand on the pick em up truck. I traded the guy that was assembling the 77 truck for us ...... for his 84 stepper. He was the one that asked if I was interested and I said sure. His truck has A/C and is functional where ours didnt have it. I traded him the factory ralleys for the slots in the pic also. The only thing missing is tranny lines, kick down cable, and trans dip stick. Otherwise, we will have a running piece. The 77 is completely put together and is driven everyday by Harry, the assembler. Another GM piece back on the road!!!
