Neither of those intakes will work. You’ll need one with an egr valve on it. And an adapter from your squarebore carb to a spreadbore intake.

no im replacing the carb to spreadbore california approved carb from holley. you saved me from buying it. I had a deal to buy the blue one tomorrow.

Like this 73 vette intake.
Truck one might be different.
I’ll keep searching for a pic.
Your estimate to make it Pass smog Will likely be doubled by the time you’re done.
Likely not worth it.
Another problem is you’re trying to match up smog devices on a 454 using a 350 label. Likely not even close to the same.

Yes, that's correct. The same year of the current vehicle or newer. Older engines are not allowed.

Yes I got lucky that my 1980 is a california smog truck and the 454 is also California smog and came off the same year. I got saved since they put the RPO sticker of the donor in the glove box. That’s my proof that it’s also an 1980 and was equipped with california emission. Just have to take off all the “hot rod” parts.

I’m not doubting your info but motors get changed all the time.

Do you have the info from the flat pad in front of the passenger side head.
That info will confirm your motors origin.

There is no flats in front behind the alternator. Tried looking and I can’t find anything. I think I’ll have to crawl underneath in a bit to confirm. I had doubts too

Not on the head, on the block. Right at the point where the head bolts onto the block.

My 86 still have all smog on it air tubes, diverter valve feedback carb, air pump, heat riser

Thank you for the help! But unfortunately I’ll have to remove the 454 and put back a 350 same year or new if I want it to pass smog legally. 454 wasn’t an option so state ref said they will not approve it.
