Re: Meet Ginger.

Yup on both. The first one is for $275, the second is a 6 lug. There was a '77 rear on CL last week, but I was broke. Thanks for the look out.

Re: Meet Ginger.

It seems you just need to know what to ask for. When I asked them for Peel and Seal, they looked at me crazy.

Dave, not sure if you know this, but there is a shop downtown called http://www.perfectfit.com on the East side. They have EVERYTHING for interiors. I need to line my cab so I can get my carpet.

I have about a dozen little projects going right now on this truck. I have all the little fiberglass pieces made for doors and kick panels, I need to make a glove box since mine is missing, and I need to relocate the fuel tank so I can start on the back.

I would post up some pics, but without context, the parts don't make much sense. When I get my doors finished, I'll post all the steps involved.

Re: Meet Ginger.

Ok, here are a few shots.

I trimmed the ring off my tweeters.

Then made a fiberglass pod that aims them slightly towards you when mounted in the door

Now you can see how the tweeter fits flush in the pod

The pod sits just before the corner of the door panel directly above the window crank. When I wrap my doors, it will make more sense.

Re: Meet Ginger.

Spent the weekend beating my grille straight, but it's no use. Got my bumper straightened, too.

Anyone know where I can get a 60ish dual headlight grill? Painted would be awesome. I found one on ebay, but it's missing the headlight buckets.

If you ever decide to dump that rear bumper for the pretty fleetside rear bumper like this:

I'd be interested in knowing what you'd want for yours.

Re: Meet Ginger.

So before I dive head first into a faux-tina paint job, I decided to spend some more time bringing the orange back.

I took off the trim and started on the drivers side.

What a pain in the ass. But I got most of the driver side done.

The underside of the crease is tough with my drill. But it cleans up nice.

Keep it up man. Can't wait to see the mod's to the dash and the rest of the interior. All the glass work you are doing looks great. As far as the orange goes... a little bit everyday and it will all be off soon.

Re: Meet Ginger.

OK, what a busy weekend. Headed out first thing Saturday to Foster Auto Parts to pick up some seats. I went there with the intent to get some CTS seats, but quickly changed my mind when I saw these.

2007 Cadillac DTS

Went to Home Depot for supplies, then Dave stopped by with a nice frame and bed for me.

Got the frame situated in the garage, then back to the interior. Removed the bench and tank.

Cut the tank mounts to make room for the seats, wire wheeled the hell out of everything, cleaned up and laid down a coat of rust proof primer.

A quick test fit before bed.

Started looking at the seats and wow, am I in trouble. 38 wires in the harness of the passenger seat. I have it down to 14 wires, but I'm waiting on some feedback before I start gutting.

Here are the controls for the driver side.

Fully adjustable, 4 way adjustable lumbar, heat, cool, message, and ABS. Not to mention 3 memory settings. I am bypassing all but the seat adjustments and lumbar if possible. I have posed questions on the Caddy forum, but if anyone has done this, HELP!

Re: Meet Ginger.

I will get the bed and frame broken down this weekend and will have a lot more room to work. Once I get the crossmember and rear end out, then things will be easier to do. Having the frame will be awesome because I can run all my brake and air lines, mount my fuel tank, air tanks and compressors, mount my valves and be ready to go with the suspension parts. I'll get the bed raised and be ready to mount the wood.

Man, so much work to do, but things are starting to take shape. My middle seat will be here this weekend, then I need to finish my door latches and get my weather striping installed. This week will be spent painting, sound deadening, and upholstering the interior. I have a ton of work to do on the back, but now that I have the seats, I know how much room I have, now.

Re: Meet Ginger.

Thanks.

I plan to take Friday off and head down there to get my stuff matched up to the seats. I haven't been there in a few years, but last time they had over 40 shades of carpet just in the brand I was looking at.

I need carpet, vinyl, and a whole mess of push fasteners. Can't wait to get this interior buttoned up.

Re: Meet Ginger.

I got some diagrams from the Caddy guys so I hope to get the passenger seat wired up to test tonight. I will pull the drivers seat back out tonight and lay down some deadener, too.

I need to make a mount for the fuel tank either tonight or tomorrow just in case someone doesn't like my redneck cargo strap job I hope to have my fuel cell this week or next and I can mount that in the bed for now until I get the other bed ready to go.

The crossmember should be out tonight and the rear will be next. If nothing else, I'll at least have the frame on stands with some room to move.

The bed just has a few bolts holding the rear on, right? Or are there spot welds to get the sides off?

Re: Meet Ginger.

What seats are those, are the backs thin, I just cannot live with the tahoe seats, they take up too much room and do not leave any room for my big belly.....are those seats thinnner.??

Re: Meet Ginger.

These are 2007 Cadillac DTS seats and I had to pull the tank so the back would clear. These are thicker than the tahoe seats, but I will make them work. I'll post some pics in a minute of the seat in the truck.

With the fuel tank in, I was a foot from the steering wheel.

Re: Meet Ginger.

Here's a shot of the seat in about the right spot. I might raise it up a little, but I'm not sure how high the seat is adjusted now. Guess I need to wire it up and figure that out, too.

Re: Meet Ginger.

I will try and test these seats out today, but I need to do something with the tank. I got the crossmember out of the frame and might tackle the bed today, too. I'm sick as a dog, so I work in spurts.

The cab is dead now, so are the doors. I wish I had my carpet, I'd put that in today, too.

<edit> I have the seat on the floor of the garage, so I sit in that when I'm not working. Damn I love these seats.

Re: Meet Ginger.

I have a fuel cell in mind, mount it on the frame rail where the aux tank is now. Until I get that, I'm using mine. But it's yours when the cell gets here.
