Re: Project "Love Affair"... 5.3/Wilwood/c10

Here is the pile of wires that came out of the factory harness.

Also... what do you do when your freshly purchased ECE Super Trac Bar doesn't fit around your also freashly purchased TA girdle diff cover? You get creative!!! A few cuts, tweaks, welds, and a little grinding later.... you make one that fits.

What do you think?

Very nice progress! I like the harness. I need to that for my project. I just keep putting off. I'm not to fond of wiring. You have a link to what guide you used? thanks

Good work on the panhard bar. It's crazy how the littlest thing can turn into a big project. Keep up the good work.

Love the wagon. I went to scrape iron yard last month and a guy had one he was fixing to sell for scrap iron and I got it for 5 bucks, I plan on putting larger wheels and tires on it also.

Re: Project "Love Affair"... 5.3/Wilwood/c10

Mcbassin... the info is all available on www.LT1swap.com

I created a notebook of all the particular mods that I had to do on a 2005 5.3 / 4L60E for future reference. It wasn't to difficult, just time consuming. (But beats the alternative... I didn't have $800+ to drop on a standalone wiring harness)

Hopefully all my planning and work will pay off!!

Re: Project "Love Affair"... 5.3/Wilwood/c10

It has definitely been a while since my last post... and unfortunately not a lot has happened on the truck. I have been playing with my ever growing family and working on my other project... our house.

I have bought a few new parts for the truck and just started working on the sheetmetal that needed to be replaces... usual stuff... inner and outer rockers, floor pans, lower Front and Rear door post, cab corners, etc. This is my first attempt at this so... here goes nothing.

I purchased a set of EbFabman videos... huge help. Here is where I am...

Re: Project "Love Affair"... 5.3/Wilwood/c10

Sheetmetal repair still in works.

Passenger Floor Pan complete
Lower kick panel complete
A-pillar lower section in works
Rear passenger side in works
Driver side to follow

... starting to think a whole floor replacement would have been easier.

Re: Project "Love Affair"... 5.3/Wilwood/c10

Still working on sheetmetal repairs....

Got the passenger floor plan, inner rocker, cab braces, and A & B pillar extensions complete. I just have the outer rocker and cab corner left.... then the other side!!!

MIGHT PULL MY HAIR OUT.

Getting there slowly but surely.. just ready to ride in it again.

Wow, I love the lift. Looking at your pictures reminds me of my 3 month battle with rust on my cab. Have fun with it.

Got the rear rebuilt... disc brake conversion, girdle rear, and new brake lines on the way. (inlinetube.com... SS set). I bought a set of front sway bar brackets and bushings and got the rear re-installed in the chassis.

Next steps are to install brake lines, install sway bar, and get ready to set the motor.

P.S. - have some goodies on the way... the wife bought me the black wilwood D52 front calipers for Christmas... she's awesome!!!
What rear disc brake kit did you use or parts?

Re: Project "Love Affair"... 5.3/Wilwood/c10

Performance online kit.... It was around $500 new, but I bought it from a board member that had used it for mockup only for $400 ( I think). I like it, but would probably spend the extra money for a wilwood kit if I had to do it over. In fact, I'll let you buy them if your interested.

Thanks
