Re: Project...praise the lowered
thanks again got the feedback guys.this weekend i didnt get alot done to the ol girl.on saturday i spent the day helping the ol man with his t bucket build and today i took advantage of the above 0 day to tear down the sierra more.got the front clip off,cab ready to be lifted and the box ready to be lifted off.it was a big step for the build.
ps ......the story on the t bucket it was burnt to a crisp when he bought it.came with the suspension, frame, wheels, headers and small bits and pieces .and before someone ask yes that is a hot tub beside the hotrod in the garage.it makes you work harder to get things finished

Re: Project...praise the lowered
today i fit the newer style radiator into the old 67 rad support.it was a close fit.i made the bottom of the support out of 1/8 plate because its going to be one of the main supports on my custom front clip.i also got a chance to custom fit the newer gas pedal and brake pedal.before i left i finished welding and buffing the center console.

thanks again for the positive feed back.FRENCHBLUE72...i guess i kind of brought it back from the dead.JesseH13.....i will keep updating as much as i can.i will soon be moving on the frame and suspension.after the wife crunched some numbers, with all the wheelin and dealin, selling old parts from the 67,parting out most of the sierra,im going to have next to nothing in this build

Re: Project...praise the lowered
didnt get a whole lot of work done this week.stripped more off the sierra, installed the dvd/stereo,little more welding done, sand blasted the front control arms ready for paint, took the seat foam and cover off to cut and weld the backing so it will lean ahead more.and started to install the newer wiper motor with the old wiper arms.

Re: Project...praise the lowered
today i did a couple odds and ends in the interior and then moved on to lining up panels.after a few hours of shimming, bending, and cutting i got to the point that i could weld the seam where the hood meets the fenders.then it was on to cutting out the new hood.its shaping up nicely

Re: Project...praise the lowered
Awesome work, wish I found this thread sooner. Your cab work is definitely making me rethink my decision of just getting the truck on the road for the summer. I need to finish smoothing my firewall and make a taller driveshaft tunnel cuz I wasnt originally going to drop her as much as I did. Im wondering what youre going to do with your glovebox door? Cant wait for more.

Re: Project...praise the lowered
thanks men.bucketObolts i was looking at pics of your ride yesterday.looks good. if thats all you have to do for mods to get your beast on the road it really doesnt take long to do once your balls deep into it.im only able to get a few hours a week on my truck and it flys by if you go in with a plan.im hoping to have mine done for our wedding.which is less then 4 months away.not completely done but at least driveable.so the push is really on now.

Re: Project...praise the lowered
after not working on the ol girl all week i had a full day to work on her.i got some welds cleaned up,finished the hood/fender seam, stripped paint on the in side and out side of the hood, welded a 1/8 x 3/4 flat bar lip around the new hood opening for a finished look and had a chance to spread some all metal filler in few weld seams.feels good to start spreading fill.
