you could still "bench run" it as we would say.

Re: 1967 c-10 4x4 build
i plan on doing the rubber hose real soon. and i found a new leak. the power steering pump. the funny part is, i have a couple friends with 72-87's and they have the same if not very similar power steering system, and they all leak!
i also plan on putting dual glasspacks on it. the tone of flowmasters is alright, but at $150 bucks a piece, for a sound that im not really fond of, i'll stick to good ol' loud dual glasspacks!!!

Re: 1967 c-10 4x4 build
Are they really $150 a piece? I have seen them for $79 and up and prefer them over glass packs any day.

Re: 1967 c-10 4x4 build
thats what i was thinking. i'll take the louder, cheaper ones. being a kid, loud is good. nothing like the sound of some glasspacks on a SBC, IMO.

Re: 1967 c-10 4x4 build

Re: 1967 c-10 4x4 build
Here you go for flowmasters. I have dual Smithys on my 70 with a Goodwrench 350 2barrel and ramhorns. It sounds nice without the "cowboy cackling" as we say up here. Nice rumble at idle and cruising but a bit louder when floored. A 4barrel would make it louder as would a better cam but it works for me.

Re: 1967 c-10 4x4 build
Is your exhuast, just straight pipes all the way back or are you running a crossover system. How loud is it when you put your foot into?

no crossover. true dual. no cats. and its loud. lets just say it can wake the neighbors if you get into it.

Re: 1967 c-10 4x4 build
Sweet truck!
Leave the carpet at least for the rest of winter. I had stock carpet or whatever rubber mats, and I took it out, bare steel floor, loud as HECK and no insullation! Leave it no matter how bad it looks. Looks good, emblems look great, Im going to have to copy that. Ya need some bumpers!!! Sweet truck love the stance and wheel/tire combo, perfect! I wish I had a 4x4 swb LUCKY
