Thanks nikwho. I did pull it out by myself wasn't to bad coming out. I actually turned it all the way and pulled it in forwards. That got a little sketchy but not too bad......

Re: Started With This

When I saw the first photos I was ready to offer up a spare cab I have in place of the one you started with if you were closer.

Thanks for the detailed photos of the suicide door install. I have stock hinges that are reversed side to side now but have a set of the hinges you used out on the shelf waiting for the redo.

I've had shaved drip rails for the past 30 years and it is really hard to keep water out unless you have the door tops fit just right and really good weather stripping on the truck.

Re: Started With This

Got a stupid question, why didn't you sand or wire brush the heavy rust before installing the hinge assembly? Are you going to media blast it after your done? What paint on the frame?

I will media blast that eventually. The color on the frame is a product called Master Series. http://www.masterseriescoatings.com/index/primer/

Re: Started With This

Nice build project. I was wonder how the LS block hugger would fit. I have the same headers but I'm running the lq4 6.0.

Re: Started With This

Those are Hooker block huggers, they seem to fit pretty good. I don't even think hooking up the steering will be to bad..........................

I have the Hooker block hugger too. I was looking for a full length but could not find a set to fit my application.

Re: Started With This

I looked at some long tube headers too but I thought they would all hang to low and get in the way of the brake pedal and steering............
