Nice job on the springs and mudding! It looks really good. On the brake problem, have you replaced any of the flexible rubber hoses or at least inspected them? A lot of times those hoses can have a broken steel cord and rust internally causing a line to be plugged when pressure is applied. Just something to check for. I fought this on my 70 K20 as well.

thanks and yes the front ones are brand new. the back one is older but i have fluid to both rear wheels so i dont think it would need to be replaced.

another problem i have noticed is where the rod from the brake booster comes through the fire wall and connects to the pedal has been cut and has a piece of pipe slipped over them and welded together. im guessing that they did this when the 2wd cab was put on the 4wd frame for some reason or another. i dont know how this affects it but it cant be helping the situation.

Re: 72/69 K10 project "Big Dreams"

Maybe that rod is too short and not pushing the piston in the MC far enough. What style of bracket is on your truck? I have another one for parts and might be able to help you out on a rod.

Re: 72/69 K10 project "Big Dreams"

turns out the booster and master cylinder on the truck are for a 2wd front disk brake truck and are hopefully whats keeping it from stopping properly. so the parts store ordered me the right ones...

I also got the headache rack shortened up on the flat bed this weekend.

Re: 72/69 K10 project "Big Dreams"

on another note. My parents bought me an early college graduation present. i will let the pictures speak for them selves. This will probably led me to selling the red and white one once i get the brakes fixed so that i can use that money to fix up the black one

Re: 72/69 K10 project "Big Dreams"

Got the brake booster and master cylinder put in and i now have brakes it took way to long to figure out but i'm just glad they are working.

Probably wont be putting much more money in this truck for a while due to have having to get the black truck tagged titled and insured.

but the next things on the list for it are.....

Shocks
Holley offroad carb
new air cleaner set up
shortening the length of the flat bed

Oh and here is a pic.(cant have a post without one )

its not that i want to sell it. i just have 3 4wd chevy trucks now so it will be the first to go if one has to. if it sells i will use the money to start turning the black 72 in to a daily driver. it if doesn't oh well all 3 are paid for so it can just set in the driveway and i will just keep playing around with it when money allows. just really hard to justify tags taxes and insurance on 3 vehicles.

Re: 72/69 K10 project "Big Dreams"

Good luck with the sale. I know how trying to plate all your projects is and it stinks. Not to mention trying to buy parts to try and restore 2 at once.

Sorry to hear that. I hope you got enough out of it to put a good dent in the new one!
