Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
67 68 bench seats are able to fold forward....if your bench doesnt do that then you have a 69 72 bench

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
it just folds, you just grab it and pull it forward and it comes down unless its a 69 72 bench ill check your pics to see for sure: EDIT you have a 69 72 bench seat just find a 67 or 68 with the original bench in it (PS TRY TO GET ONE OUT OF A TRIMMED TRUCK LIKE A CUSTOM OR CST so it has more foam and is more comfortable)

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
check the junk yards, if your wife doesnt like that idea just remind her after 44 years benches dont look good, and no matter where you get one it will need to be recovered.

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
there might be a wingnut that holds the seat in the up position...if so take it off and it'll fold forwards! I'll be following along! Love the 67's!

Got my wheels in today. When we get some nicer weather I'll try and put one on and see how they fit, and take a pic! They look awesome!

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Well finally got outside with some good weather and mounted one of the wheels on the front of the truck! They look awesome! What do you all think?!
They're 8.5x15 inch with 3.5" back spacing. I tried to show different views so you can get an idea. Trying to decide what size tire to put on 'em. Any ideas?

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
An option in 1967. '67's originally had small back windows unless the bigger window was optioned on the truck. They called it a panoramic cab. Yeah, I had to learn too! And welcome to the site!

Still needing cash for a battery so as soon as I get that, hopefully it'll be running again. Until then I hope to get my tires also and run a new hot wire to the HEI and make sure I got it timed right, or as close as possible. I'll try and keep you all up to date!

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Well, did a lil' work on it today. Ran a new wire to the HEI, only to read on a forum today that I should run a bigger gauge wire and that you can trace the wire to the wiring block on the firewall and plug into it for a cleaner install. Still haven't got my battery yet. Short on spare cash and buying a new tractor probably didn't help that, but we needed it.
Been doing a lot of research today. Thanks everyone for making this such a great website. So much info on here! Well, when I get more done I'll post. Maybe even a pic or two!

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
My parents finally got a tractor for there acherage a few years back and ill tell you what that is the best for snow removal and dirt work, whats funny is they ordered a heated cab on it and then when they got it the tractor also had A/C, the dealer just gave that option to them free of charge so now in the summer when its hot as heck they can be in a nice cool tractor, lazy huh
Do you have a bucket for it?

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Ya $4,000 is a lot, you could check like on craigslist to for the time being maybe you could find a slightly used one for a lot cheaper...

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Spent 2 hours today before work driving around trying to find a couple wire conectors for my wiring! Had the Napa part no. and everything. Looked this up in another forum.
Since they didn't have any in stock to order some they were gonna make me buy a whole box of 50! I went to Lowes, an electrical store, and Advanced Auto. Finally O'reilly's can order them individually in case someone else needs 'em at fifty cents a peice. But KOI auto parts had a small box of 5 for $2.65! Now I can work on it this weekend! WOO-HOO!
