Re: 1967 CST LWB - Build thread Chapter 1
Chaper #6, 327's
327's just about ready to pick up at Local builder's shop "Drummond Machine" in Pleasant Hill, Oregon. Bob has been building engines longer than I've been alive, Great guy and said it should scoot pretty good, estimated 325-350hp. TH400 being rebuilt and get this baby back on the road before the snow hits this fall for a work truck until body work and block sanded and painted next spring. Should look as good as new with out too much cash. She's gonna be a Keeper! =0)

Chapter #7 67 CST project renamed - ON THE BACK BURNER
With the 68 Burb 4X4 home now working on getting it driving before the snow hits. Looks like the 67 CST is next springs project to finish up engine install and paint.

Re: 1967 CST LWB - Build thread Chapter 1
Chapter # 8 Moving forward again........
Now that the suburban is near road worthiness, pulling parts together and trying to determine if I'm missing anything. Drive shaft is getting a newer two bolt carrier bearing installed this weekend and finish up installing the brakes. Was gonna drop it a bit but decided to go stock ride height for now. Picked up a 67 C10 parts truck cheap with 3.73 posi, buddy buckets and other misc 67 parts to use in future projects. The 327 has the original forged crank but the rear main bearing is cooked, crank journals only needed to be polished good news from machine shop.

Re: 1967 CST LWB - Build thread Chapter 1
MadnessBigblock.
The interior is stock color light blue not sure of code, I have it at home. Exterior was repainted (very thin coat, thank god) of a slighty darker blue than stock. Looks like 1970 Medium Poly Blue from previous trucks I've seen.

Re: 1967 CST LWB - Build thread Chapter 1
Awesome looks good! When you get a chance let me know what the interior code is.
Also the firewall you just painted is it matched to the existing exterior color or is it a stock 67 color? Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: 1967 CST LWB - Build thread Chapter 1
Game on......
Gonna be one smooth and strong 327. The machine work was done by Drummond machine in Pleasant Hill Oregon, Bob builds great engines and stands behind them. Keith black pistons, forged crank, Comp roller cam & 1.6 rockers. Time for the install this weekend and drive........

New KYB shocks installed, Engine and trans almost wrapped up. Pick up some new U joints tomorrow and get the drive line balanced. Install last of brake parts and heater core and she's good to go....

Re: 1967 CST LWB - Build thread Chapter 1
Finally engine's back in it.. should be good for 325hp with new Comp cam, 1.6 roller rockers and compression increase.
Original 327 and TH400 trans, time to hook up all the goodies and drive.
