Re: my '64 c-10 swb project with steel floor from a '70
well fryer, i still think i might install it but it will be awhile before its on the road! i still got to get the bbw panel from clyde65 and install it, then theres a few other things i got to do before the cab is done! i have been rethinking of what needs to be done first to get it back on the road and what can be done after its on the road!! atleast your truck is on the road and your driving it! i havn't drove my truck in a lil over 2 yrs. and that bugs me! but if i just keep at it it will get done, i was planning on having it done by the time my lil girl starts school, i thought we had 1.5-2 yrs but no she starts next yr. she'll be 3.5 when school starts next yr. and she'll be going to pre-k, im glad in a way! i would have liked to have drove her to school in the truck but you never know! i could get alot done in the next yr, lol!! anyways thanks for taking the time an posting i'm waiting to see some picture of what you did to your bumper!

In my 15 years of body work i have never used the butt weld clamps. Thought about it, but never bought any.

Re: my '64 c-10 swb project with steel floor from a '70
ya, i didnt buy them either, my father-in-law gave them to me!! i didnt use the butt weld clamps, it was easier to feel the high and low spots when i was welding! one down an one to go! i still got a lil work to do like hammer down the edge with the brace and fold over the wheel lip, and i did make the drain hole bigger, anyways on to the pictures!!

Good job on that bench seat!! The sway bar looks like it was made for an armrest.
Waiting to see the gas tank install as I have been considering this mod as gas fumes are a little obnoxious in summer.....

I thought I was done with the big ticket items a while back, then I realized I still have wheels and tires and upholtsery. Not to mention all the nickle dime items. You'll get there.

Re: my '64 c-10 swb project with steel floor from a '70
protrash64- thanks, it will be a lil while before i get ready to install the gas tank, im trying to get the frontend back on! then i will install the gas filler plate in the bed! i'm still trying to figure what the other two plugs go to on the gas tank, that and i need to buy a sending unit for it! i only need to fix my rockers on the cab, but im going to cut out the seam where the firewall and floor meet just to make it look smoother and to not have it rot out later from water getting trapped!
alan- i got wiring harness, windsheild, weatherstripping, bbw glass, panel adhesive, and other odds and ends just to name a few! i like income tax time the wife lets me have 500-1000 to buy what i want besides what i spend through out the year which will pay for some of these things! im going to paint what i can and need to, then i have a cousin that will paint it for me an i know it would look good when done all i got to do is the bodywork, lol! he builds hotrods for a living, and has done paint/body and auto all my life! lostmy65- no, i had to buy the inner fender bace and the fender patch seperate, then i took measurements of where the bolt hole was at then cut and grind til the new patches fit! then i welded the inner fender brace in and the fender patch! there a guy on youtube that has a 2 part video of cutting the fender brace and patch panel (mobilehotrodrepair) he has some other videos that have helped me learn! plus, i have learned alot of this site!! |

Re: my '64 c-10 swb project with steel floor from a '70
i took my fender over to where my trucks at and put the fender on just to see how it all would line up and i dont think i did that bad of a job! the door is not lined up good but thats cause i took the door off and didnt line it back up right!! the bottom bolt hole lined up just right and so did the bottom of the fender with the rocker
