Started the task of prime and paint on the frame. I really envy the floor space of an "actual shop".

Thanks guys. Kinda been dragging my feet a tad. Not looking forward to all the rust repair in the cab floor and firewall that is next on my list. Also will be doing a complete rewire of the truck, the PO used red wire for everything... Thanks PO guy! so.. its gunna be SLOWWWWW for a while... But, some progress is better than no progress. And me doing it right is better than being judge for someone else doing it worng.

Re: In the beginning there was a 69 party (eyebrows up)

why not just start fresh with a new harness? I think you can get the Kwik Wire kit for around 400 bucks. I went with the uber expensive Painless kit, and re-wired my whole truck. I had the same problem as you at first. Glad i just cut my losses and started over with the wiring.

I was going to use Hot Rod Wires here in Texas. They have an nice 18 circuit for $259. They come pretty recommended. Probably be ordering today in fact. I'll defiantly check out your recommendation before I pull the trigger. Thanks for the info bro.

40 grit then 60 grit grind surface prep to remove scares, Fill/sand primer then 320 grit D/A, block, and hand sanding. Enamel flat black finish. I know its just a frame but the plan is for the bed floor to lift on its own like a tonneau cover to expose the gas tank and all my hard work. Its worth the extra effort to me since it will be seen. The same effort was spent on the axle and trailing arms.

Added 05/18/11: What helped the most was The c-notch is a bolt on from CPP. I didn't like the way it looked with the bolts, so I welded and shaved it into the frame.

Just read your whole thread.
Did you pick the tire sizes for looks alone or are you going to autocross this as well?

Looks only. I was a part of the SCCA Autocross scene for a while with a mustang I built just to race autocross. Thats were the experience with these tire combos came from. The mustang was too radical for the street and was no fun on normal roads, always worried about tearing it up. Not again for this guy. As much fun as autocross is, the actual racing vs. working just isn't worth it in Texas heat. Especially in the middle of parking lots. Thats what building a street rods is all about right? Race inspired ideas on street cars/trucks! This trucks forecast for competition are show and shines with slight chances of 383 tuning strip trips.
