Clean up means take off the cowl, take off the seal plates, take off door panels to clean inside of doors, clean fender cups good, POR-15 any hidden areas that may need it, maybe take up the rubber floor mat if it needs it, replace any dented molding with better molding sitting in our shop. That sort of stuff.

Hey Steve, Jason is right. We try to think of areas that might hold dirt, clean then treat. These trucks dont rust from getting wet, they rust from dirty places holding moisture in the areas Jason mentioned.
Greg under the hood is very dirty but very original. The engine still has most of the factory orange on it. Jason will post pictures under the hood and the spid (which matches window sticker)
Thanks for your interest guys Paul

When you replace the molding with undented stuff, are you going to polish it before you put it on, or will it retain it's aged look? Will you replace single pieces, or the whole set so they more or less match?

Steve, we always try to keep these trucks looking unrestored original so if a mldg or bezel has a ding we replace it with a nicer original but would never polish the replacement part. That is the advantage of lots of parts trucks.

With all that paperwork and the "clean" nature, this is a true survivor! Wow....I want one!
Do you have the cleaned up, wiped down and sucked up pics to show? I want to see them.

No, we have not had time to clean it up much, but we do have a new dilemma to deal with. The burb has been sitting in front of our shop and yesterday we get a call from this local guy who really wants to buy it for his wife. So, I guess we have a decision to make.

Re: Now, If only we can find……….

Thought y'all might want to see the motor from this Suburban. Hard to believe the new owner would pull the motor with under 54k miles. Thanks to Paul and Jason Duncan for getting me a correct motor for my K20 complete with brackets, carb, exhaust manifolds, wire looms, etc. Not pictured are the AC brackets, compressor, and wheels/caps included in the deal. The spare tire still has nubs on it!

Re: Now, If only we can find……….

The new owner wanted to upgrade the motor to something like an LS and put on new wheels. Paul and Jason would have more details.

I agree with Paul in that all the tires seem to be original including that on the spare. The other 4 tires are very dry rotted but the spare still has a lot of life left. That's the spare pictured above and I've attached two more.

Pete
