Re: Barbwire Customs Project#1
Today we got the gas struts installed and they work great and turned out great. I meant to take some better pictures of the brackets we built but as usual wasn't thinking straight. Anyways we ended up attaching the brackets to the original mounts for the original hood hinge slots.

Re: Barbwire Customs Project#1
Struts look good, I also noticed that you have some mesh behind the grill opening, other shots of the grill didn't show it, looks good....Jim

Re: Barbwire Customs Project#1
Its not finished but I think it will turn out really good when its finished. We are building it to cover wires and it really cleans up the engine compartment. Thanks.
Yea I wish I would have gotten better pictures of when we were building it. We actually cut the middle original cross bar out of the original grill that we had and the new cross bar with the emblem is a piece of rectangular tubing that we bent to take the shape of the grill. Then we ordered a piece of 16gauge metal with the pattern stamped into it. Hopefully in a month or so I can get outside and get some better pictures of it. |

Re: Barbwire Customs Project#1
Here is our door handles or I guess they are really just door pulls since we have the door poppers. One is close to finished and well the other one has a ways to go but with the first picture you can see at least where we started. I think they will turn out really nice.

Re: Barbwire Customs Project#1
Looks great. You know that unfinished version would be awesome for a ratrod style.

Re: Barbwire Customs Project#1
When you put those inner fenders back on it fills up the engine bay real quick, doesn't it....Jim

Re: Barbwire Customs Project#1
Jim, yes it did fill up the engine bay pretty quickly. The exciting thing is we are really close to getting it all back together and driver worthy. Thanks for keeping up this project...

Re: Barbwire Customs Project#1
I guess it is about time to start thinking about what type of shoes/wheels that this truck is going to be wearing....ANY IDEAS?
I am thinking Coys, raceline speedster five's, raceline burst five's, Rocket boosters, Boze force....and the list goes on. Then the next question is 18" or 20"? I will get some better pictures of it all together hopefully in the next 3 weeks or so. |

Re: Barbwire Customs Project#1
Wheels can make or break a ride. Not an easy chose. Not that it should makes a difference but I like 18" front, 20" rear....Jim

Why not the coys? Are they bad quality or just over used?
