A few more pics. As we dig into this one, we can see there is no shortage of work. I need a full bed / box for this project, anyone here know where I can buy a complete unit?

If you recall when I purchased this truck ( EBAY sight unseen ) this was one of those " I bought it from the original guy who only used it on the farm" and something like" its never been touched" sales pitched I received...... I dont recall the factory using spray foam in the rockers ???

The chassis is here just waiting to get all the Porterbuilt components installed, I also just got word that CURRIE is building a ford 9" for the project this week as well so Ill have pics of the diff install shortly.

The goofy looking guy giving me the finger is my body and paint guy weird dude but boy can he paint.......

In order to get Currie all the dims needed to build our differential I needed to mock up wheels and tires....... here are a couple pics of a set of Forgeline wheels with Nitto tires I had built for another project that I just didn't use.

Since the bed was already off the truck I just tucked the tires up as high as I could to get an idea. they will sit up inside the wheel well more once the mini tubs go in of course. The wheels are 19" X 13" , tires are 345 30 19 they have a OD of 27.17.

Is it my imagination or the angle of the camera? rear view of the frame looks tweaked, is it lower on the left side?

I think that is an illusion caused by the angle of the 2nd crossmember from the back. Yes it is that way from the factory.

It does look like it, I saw that too. I don't see any problems on the frame thankfully.

Get the frame level and then pull a dimension diagonally across the frame from a given corner to the opposite corner. Then pull the opposite way diagonally, and if the frame is straight the numbers should be the same both ways.
It's also good to check short portions such as the very front to the cab mounts, and then the very rear to the rear cab mounts.

Will do. I have the frame totally striped sitting here so Ill do that tomorrow. I should have the PB parts tomorrow as well so assembly can begin.

Been at it hard for a few days . Here are a few progress pics. We have the floors in now, rockers are well under way. Just test fitting doors now as well.

I received my Ididit steering column today. I hope to have all the Porterbuilt parts here tomorrow as well. We went with Nate's 4Link system .... I'm looking forward to seeing this set up.

Been working on the dash today...... got rid of the factory filler panels. I think I will put some gauges on the left and right side of the radio delete, then put the Vintage Air controls where the ash tray was if will fit here.

We also shaved the center speaker grill just left the defrost vents.

My PB products showed up today, I know most of you already know this but WOW , nice stuff. We do a lot of assembly welding here at work so we know a good weld when we see one The Porterbuilt stuff is top notch for sure.

Here is a pic of my Polished Ididit tilt steering column as well. Thanks to these guys for hooking me up with a great looking product too.

We got the frames stripped down last night so we are good to go on getting some of these PB parts installed for a first test fit before the frame heads off to powder coat.

I notice you ran your new pans up past the factory seam.
I'm thinking of doing the same.
That seam is a water trap.
May I see a pic of that portion from the front?

Here is the only pics I have right now...... if you look close you can see the seam / welded area where the new section has been added . The truck is at my body guys place or I would go take a good pic for you myself. Hope this helps .

Here are a few more pics. We removed the front drip rails around the doors, got other parts epoxied in the booth ready for some cleaning up and smoothing out.

We started ripping the bed apart, going to redo the bed in black oak with black powdercoated hardware strips.

Looks Good.

I just think it makes sense to eliminate that seam.
One less seam for rust to make its home.

Been working on the frame over the last couple days when we could finds some time. The PB stuff bolted right in up front with no issues. We went for Nate's 4 link set up in the rear cause of the HP we will be running, it too so far has bolted right in.

Because of the wide rear tires ,we decided to narrow up the front 4 link mounts to gain an extra 1.75" in clearance just to be safe.

We have it set up to have 1 " from the outside tire bulge to the fender lip. I hope to have the bed on early next week for a test fit so we will know for sure soon.
