This is just one build. If I had the cash & could source NOS steel, I'd do it too regardless of whether it's a resto or custom build.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

x2!! The quality of NOS parts is just so much better. My friend bought $1000 worth of reproduction parts for his truck and nothing fit correctly. Even the holes on his airdam were off anywhere from 1/2"-1" all the way across. When your doing a high dollar build like this, it would be best to make sure the fit and finish is absolutely perfect.

Re: 86 crew cab "Full Frame" build

X3 why would anyone want to spend any kind of good money on a build and not want their parts to line up as best as they could?

Sorry for the delay guys, I just got the pictures from Nate of the front wheel set up. Here is what a 16" rotor looks like inside a 26" wheel.

I have had non OEM style parts on these trucks, and a few are ok. But for the most part, they don't fit for crap. No one wants to spend 1000 bucks more than they have to on a show truck just to make the aftermarket panels fit correctly. With a build as beautiful as this, I would not put anything but the best on it! As far as caging/ chopping some of the old 60's cars, some of them need to be. My buddy's 66 nova is ripping the rear pillar with a basically stock 350. He needs to Subframe connect it with his new motor or that car is going to rip apart. If it wasn't for the guys customizing/ chopping some of these vehicles, the stock survivors wouldn't be worth a thing. I definitely understand where you are coming from, but lets be real, squarebody trucks are not rare by any means.

The cab will fit over the center section, the whole floor and firewall have been cut out. The one tube will run just under of the bottom of the back window. The other tube will run just under the bottom of the windshield.
