Re: Parting out 1978 Silverado BIG10 1/2 ton LWB
The grille, I think it belongs to a GMC. Does it fit on the 79? Because the 78 has different plastic bezels style and a different lower molding. If it fits, what is the condition and how much.. to 80247.

Re: Parting out 1978 Silverado BIG10 1/2 ton LWB
I need body molding pieces. Are there any straight pieces left? and I cant use any off the bed because its a longbed.
I noticed that the pieces on the LH fender look pretty good.

You too. Seems like we live pretty similar lives and have the same tastes. Let me know when you start putting the new drop parts on yours. Don't know if I will be able to afford anything of the old stuff yet but I will see what I can scape up. We figured last night diapers and formula are $550.00 month at the current rate the twins are going through them.

Re: Parting out 1978 Silverado BIG10 1/2 ton LWB
How about the rear spring crossmember? or even just the small brackets that go from the crossmember to the bottom of the frame.

Re: Parting out 1978 Silverado BIG10 1/2 ton LWB
Not sure if I am looking at the right part. I see what I call a rear spring cross brace but I don't see any brackets off of it. I see a cross brace at the front of the springs with brackets comming off of it. Is that what you are wanting?

I will let you know what happens there. I think I may have picked up a blazer project yesterday. I don't know if it will ever make it back into one piece, though.

What shape is the rear bumper in. I need a perfectly straight one for my 87. I have one that is bent. Can you ship to the Chicago area?

Re: Parting out 1978 Silverado BIG10 1/2 ton LWB
Cutting this one up with in the week so if you need a part of the cab or anthing let me know quick.
I have a whole other 77 3/4 ton truck that I will part out in a few months. I just need to be sure I have everything off that I need for my Suburban. I will make a new thread for that one when its time. |

Re: Parting out 1978 Silverado BIG10 1/2 ton LWB
Any chance the rear bumper brackets are good? If so, are they the thick type?
3/8 - 1/2 inch, flat w/4 holes, two on each end? Some lady hit me this morning and broke both of them without damaging the bumper!! I live in Nashville, will you ship? Thanks Joe |
