Re: 1956 gmc 100
I put in my gas tank this weekend and it fit pretty good, i had to trim about 5/8" off the inside of each frame rail. I like it sitting on top because it doesnt hang low at all. the rear cross member is bolted in so if the tank needs to come out it can slide out the back. My bed floor is raised 2" so theres lots of room there. 1967 mustang $90.00 delivered from ebay with sender and all.

Re: 1956 gmc 100
Ive filled the center section of the dash and painted the roof and interior so i can do the wiring and get the glass back in it. the color is a custom mixed "aqua" color and it is covered with FLAT clear coat. I mounted the fuse box and switches and am now working on installing the van tilt column.

Re: 1956 gmc 100
Well it has been a while.... I redid my bike for the summer and took a break from the truck. I am now back at it somewhat. I finished up and installed the dash, installed different tilt column from chevy van, I picked up a seat from a 1990 silverado..its in very good shape with the armrest and the color i was looking for VERY hard to come by theses days. I also broke my front windshield and had to buy a new one, they are now installed and looking good.

Re: 1956 gmc 100
Now that im done with some of the fun work its on to the body. Im going to start with the box so i stripped the rear fenders first. The good news is there is no rust but the bad is that the right fender is covered with dents. Ill bet i stripped two gallons of bondo outa that thing! All it needs now is a little kabwe love lol. The truck had early mustang taillights so i need to fill those holes as im going to use the stock type.

Re: 1956 gmc 100
A little @ a time im making progress. bed wood is done and in and the bed is done except for steps and tailgate. fenders had zero rust but the tops of them had lots of dings. Im not excited about doing body work so its tough to get motivated but the flat clear makes it look like i know what im doing, lol.

Re: 1956 gmc 100
Thanks guys. The first photo more represents the actual color, it is an aqua type..not nearly as blue as it looks in the other photos.
