Re: 1970 3/4 step side puller build (blue blood)
So I have been working on engine during this time and have it assembled almost ready to go in truck. Its a 454 crate motor from Gm. I changed pistons to 9-7-1 compression Ported the peanut port heads to flow 260cfm at 600 lift put a factory holley cast iron intake on off 60s 427 vet motor and ported some vortech exhaust manifolds to make it a stock looking torque monster.

I even found a duel snorkel air cleaner and added holes to rear so it would look old and still make hp

Also I have a set of hooker 1 7/8 headers that I had jet coated brand new in box if anyone is interested? I need to run cast iron intake and exhaust manifolds because I plan to do some stock class truck pulling with her

Have the motor finished! Decided to run March serpentine set up and really happy with kit. Beats the heck out of stock stamped pulleys that I had problems in the past throwing belts at high rpm.

Also started cutting gauges into instrument panel. Though 2 5/8 auto meters gauges would fit but figured wrong. They are in but not real happy I could not keep them level with each other because of rear backing panel. I should have bought 2" gauges!

Its been like Christmas morning around my shop! UPS just keeps dropping off cool stuff! But my credit card is hot. Was better when Santa Clause did not charge my Card LOL. Just installed power brake master cylinder for disc brakes and received a text from body shop with some blue paint getting put on fenders

Re: 1970 3/4 step side puller build (blue blood)
I spent the week working on brakes. Should not have been this hard but nothing matched up from swapping in dana 60 front. Ended up bending all new front lines. Also thought I had wrong calipers but finally figured out that I was a dumb ass and was not putting shim in right place to hold caliper LOL

Also picked up fenders. Only inside of them finished so I can install engine spray outside truck all at once when we get that far....

Re: 1970 3/4 step side puller build (blue blood)
I installed my dash and started some of the wiring. Truck has new painless wiring harness and so far fits nicely. Also had to cut hole in floor to put high hump in to clear trans better.

Re: 1970 3/4 step side puller build (blue blood)
Its all the little things that take a lot of time. I thought I would have motor fired by now but being I changed back to exhaust manifolds they did not fit between my fabbed motor mounts. Had to pull manifolds and cut mounts to get motor to fit. But look at all the fire wall room! Moving engine ahead helped that problem.

Being moved engine ahead went with hydraulic clutch setup from Novak. Nice kit but does not bolt up with out some fabbing like most things!

Re: 1970 3/4 step side puller build (blue blood)
Finished exhaust. Made some 2 1/2 to 3" collectors and fabbed exhaust all stainless. I mig welded exhaust this time. Not as pretty as tig but do not own tig welder and did not feel like pulling exhaust off to bring to welding shop.

Where did you get the 10 leaf rear springs from? Were these from a donor truck or bought new?... Thanks! Love the stock puller/resto combo

Re: 1970 3/4 step side puller build (blue blood)
I just added leaves to stock springs. I bought one set of add a leafs and the rest where just used leaves I had from donor truck. I did switch to Off Road Design flip u bolts. They are supposed to be stronger. I also changed spring perches to solid iron blocks because I twisted and crushed stock ones in past pulling days!
