I played around a little in the shop today. I finally cleaned up the rims and they turned out pretty good. To bad they are 17s. I still plan on selling these and getting 20 or 22s.



I got a couple of fittings and plumbed the rear airbags to a valve. The rearend will now stand on its own without a jack. Just waiting on control arms and I can do the same with the front.



I have been all over looking for a roll of tubing to get the brake lines and fuel lines run and it looks like I am going to have to find it online and order some.

I got the rear brake likes run today. What a PITA...the camaro rearend had some metric and some standard fittings. I have gotten really good at making a double flare now.

I gotta get an accuair valve block and a couple of tanks so I can get all the airline run. I think I saw someone had mounted two small tanks to the frame just forward of the rear tires. Any idea what size those would be?

i think those tanks should be 5 gallon ones...

hey, you gotta let me know how those sleeve bags work out..i just moved mine to over axle but i still have dominator 2600's...was thinking to switch to sleeves.

On second thought the bed floor is going to be raised so I guess I can use what ever size tank will fit under it.

I got the rack and pinion installed today and my control arms got here. I got them painted up. The ball joints should be here tomorrow so I may just have a roller tomorrow.

I also started taking the accessories of the engine so I can repaint it all. I cant stand the color red that the PO painted it. The compression checked good on all the cylinders and I am going to replace most if not all of the externals.

Finally have a rolling chassis. Gotta head out of town and go back to work for a few day but the next time I get to work on it, I'm going to pull the motor back out and repaint it. I need to get the rest of the brake lines finished up and the air lines run. Here are a couple of pictures from today.

Very nice progress! I like those wheels. I think they look real good. But, I know you want some big ole tucked wheels.

Its going to be the 17s for the time being.

You have to love FREE. I picked up a SWB chassis and stepside bed today for FREE. I have no idea what I am going to do with either but they were free. Maybe I will stick the stepside on the chassis and see what it looks like. The fleetside bed I have needs a lot of work.

The drive shafts are now finished. With the 4l60 tranny, I had to shorten one of the shafts.



I decided to see what the truck was going to look like so I set the front clip on and here it is.

X2. Hey one question. When you weld on the rear axle bag plates, do you have to figure out where they go or is there detailed instructions included in the PB kit??

The way I did it was I bolted the bags to the bridge and brackets and then lowered the frame down until they contacted the axle then tack welded them in place. Then I took the bags off and double checked the brackets were straight and finished welding them. It was really easy to do. All of the bolt in stuff was easy to install.

The only thing I would have done different with the PB stuff would have been spent a few extra dollars and got the bolt in notch. The weld in was very labor intensive compared what the bolt in would have been.

I sold the 17 inch rims, now im looking for some 20s. I was going to wait for those rally wheels, but I dont think they will be available until after the summer. Instead, Im looking at some Foose Legends in 20x8.5 and 20x10s.



I got the engine pulled, painted black and now its back in the chassis.

I got headders ordered and I ordered a corvette fuel rail that the fuel lines will exit on the passanger side. I have the brake lines run on the drivers side so Im thinking the fuel lines will run on the passanger side.

I should be ordering rims and tires in the next week or so.

I was looking at the two core supports I have (the GMC and the chevy) and the GMC one is in so much better shape. I think I am going to remove the 4 headlight buckets the GMC one has and use it. Anyone know why that wouldnt work. With the exception of the headlight buckets, they look identical.

I was going to do the same but couldn't get the 20X10 in the backspacing I was looking for, wound up going with the Coy's so I could get the deep lip. Those Foose wheels are nice though....and my cost was about 300 less than the Coy's!

I got the gmc headlight buckets removed from the GMC core support and got it cleaned up and painted. It has one small repair spot on the lower passanger side but it isnt really noticible.

I got the intake put back together and got the headers put on.

I bolted up the core support and ran into my first problem with the LT1. I need a radiator that is set up with the top radiator hose being on the passanger side. That sucks because the radiator I have is new. I know I was going to have to run electric fans but I think I am going to end up going with an aftermarket radiator specifically for the LT1.
