Re: I wanna level my truck, but I don't know where to start!

Shoulda stuck with riding around with the Sheetrock in the back of your truck....it's all downhill now

Doublecheck the height now. After lowering it the springs and leafs settle a little. And then go back and retighten everything...shackles, u-bolts, etc. you'll be surprised.

I've got a set of stock springs and I kept the original shackles so if I hate it, it will be reverse able lol but I'm sure she'll settle quite a bit

It's a 2/ 3.5 I'm pretty happy with it so far. Roads were dry today so I took it for a rip call me crazy but it handled better!

While lowering the front did you cut out the bumpstop?

With a 2in drop you need to remove the rubber bumpstop but you will have an occational metal to metal contact if you dont remove the base.

Ok I'll get it off of there. I cut the exact same amount off of both could but I've got a 3/4" difference between the passenger side and the drivers side. Should I see if it settles? Or should I take a bit more off the passenger side coil?

You might have the coils installed wrong, the top of the coil spring is D shaped and the pocket in the spring tower is also D shaped and needs to be lined up.

Re: I wanna level my truck, but I don't know where to start!

I figured that out the hard way already lol. I've had the passenger spring out 5 times and still no luck I might try it one more time 180 degrees from where it is. I thought it was an oval not "d" so maybe its still wrong! the springs aren't mirrored like I thought they would be they are identical. So its a possibility that its still in wrong. Actually now that I think about it, it is lol The cut part of the spring kinda sticks out, well its not flat on the bottom any more and on the drivers side the longer part of the spring flows down the lower control arm so I put the passenger side in the same. But if the springs are the same and "d" shaped, then the spring will not be seated in there. If that made any sense lol

Thanks!

Regardless of how much you cut off of the bottom the top has to be lined up. the bottom will only line up in the grove with an even one round cut. If that makes sence.

1/2 cut is fine, its just a royal PITA to get it to keep from poping out while installing it.
