Re: Ole Blue's Makeover
I went to my buddy's garage yesterday & we got a little more done. He painted the inside of the cab where the gas tank was as I'm goin back with a fuel cell. He got the inside of the doors painted to match the interior & we got those aligned & hung & managed to do it without scratchin the rockers or the jambs, lol. I think we're gonna put the fenders on today if he got the insides of em painted last night. Here are a few pictures

Re: Ole Blue's Makeover
He painted my buddy bucket seat frame the Taupe Frost & I think he's gonna do the shifter console in a two-tone pattern of the exterior colors to kinda bring the outside in to blend with my interior
I forgot to post a picture of what the old cab bushings looked like when we did them

Re: Ole Blue's Makeover
How the shifter console turned out is so very nice. It & the seat frame brings the outside color into the cab
Here is what will take the custom 10 emblems place

Re: Ole Blue's Makeover
Thank you! Nope, gotta have the " Pro Street " on there, lol. I'm puttin a " Chevrolet " emblem that came on the glovebox of the old Belairs, it's the one in cursive, on the tailgate, opposite side of where the master kill switch & charging lugs are gonna be. This is my very first complete build & I'm lovin it. I may have worked a trade on a '68 Impala Sport Coupe #'s matching car that I'm gonna do next so when I'm not drivin my truck I can have something to tinker with.

Re: Ole Blue's Makeover
My buddy got the fenders & cowl in color Sat. night. I'm really likin this new clear that he's using. When I picked the colors out he figured the cost including the clear & all the chemicals he puts in to mix & gave me the total. Then said, well, do you want the good clear or the better clear, lol. I said, what's the difference, clear's clear ain't it? He laughed & said, I don't know but there must be some difference cause it's $30.00 more a gallon. He figured it was gonna take 3 gallons to do the whole truck so I chose to go with the better clear which brought the grand total to $1099.01 for all the paint & clear. Anyway, we're plannin on hangin the fenders, puttin the cowl on & puttin the back glass in tonight. The right fender had a pretty good crease in the side & the left fender was bent in pretty bad on the bottom of the front cup along with all the trim holes having to be welded up & new ones drilled for the new emblems but here are the pictures of his awesome talent of bodywork & laying down the paint

Re: Ole Blue's Makeover
And the fenders. The small dents in the front on the fender in the second picture I told him to not mess with due to 1: There's no Rust & 2: The grill hides it & this is my Hot Rod, Pro-Street driver, Car Show Cruiser etc etc... truck. He didn't much care for that idea but said, It's your truck, lol. If there had been ANY rust or it could have been seen in any way or I was buildin a correct original truck, then yes, by all means it had to be fixed. If, & I say IF, I told him, I build my '68 Impala, then something like this would be fixed no question about it due to it being done all factory original & my very best at building a show car but my truck is my Hot Rod & who knows, my Impala may be built pure Pro-Street, back-halved & all, lol, as I'm a true blooded hot rodder at heart. But, on my truck, if it is real bad, has ANY RUST, or can be seen at all, it will be fixed but otherwise, roll with it, lol. Here's the fender's

Re: Ole Blue's Makeover
We got a little more done last night. Both fenders are aligned & installed, the cowl is aligned & installed, the new rear glass seal & glass is in & I went ahead & finished the fuel line at the motor before we hung the fenders. The next step is gettin the hood ready, painted & put on. While my buddy gets it ready I'm gonna polish my grill & install it & when my bumpers come in I'll put the front one on. Also, I'm suppose to pick my seats & door panels up tomorrow so we should be able to complete the inside of the cab. I bought the sound deadner from LMC but I'm not real happy with it so I may order some heat barrier from SUMMIT to put over the LMC kind before we put the new kick panels, paddin & carpet in. Here are the pictures from last night

I almost forgot, lol. I'm also goin to get the inner fenders ready & painted & installed while my buddy is doin the hood. I think he was goin to drop the hinges off today to have them media blasted before he preps & paints them.
