No luck last night on firing it up. I hooked up the rest of the wiring, dropped in the battery, turned the key... AIRBALL!! The wrong flywheel... Damn school of hard knocks... When we swapped the bellhousing for the M20, we forgot about the flywheel. It has to come out again... I have the parts but DAM! Luckily, my brother in law called me up this morning and told that one of his employees is available to do the swap for me... Wish me luck!

I went to go visit the truck at lunchtime today. The flywheel swap is already done! The driveshaft is in with a new carrier bearing... things are looking good... After work today I'll be going over for another attempt to fire it up...

She's alive!!! The 250 fired up yesterday evening... First try. Filled up the coolant, no leaks. No oil leaks... it only smoked for about 30 seconds til it burned out the trans fluid... sounds real solid...
Things are looking up.

After work last Thursday I headed over to the shop to work on the '67. Just like everything else, I had to modify the z-bar and slave to hook up the clutch linkage. I mixed and matched some parts, made some spacers and got it in. It all worked great... We have clutch action!!

Later on that evening, after Carlos finished with his customer cars, he helped me out greatly by re-wiring everything under the hood. He got rid of the 'add-ons' and went back with Genuine GM stuff... Looks and works perfect...

Friday morning... MAIDEN VOYAGE!!!!! We drove it out, in traffic hour on the main road here in Santa Fe. My brother in law wanted his coffee from that station. She did great! No leaks, no squeaks, no problems...

So it was bugging the that the truck was leaning to the left side. Friday evening I crawled under the truck to investigate. The coil spring on the drivers side was busted. I had my freshly cut springs waiting in the garage so I decided to swap them in. I did that side on Friday and the pass side on Sunday morning. Here are the results.

Scored a tailgate... Craigslist! $50. Fairly straight, surface rust only. It was in Grants, which is about 140 miles away from me. Luckily my friend/coworker Tony lives in Grants and was able to pick it up for me this past weekend. He brought it to me this morning...
