I'll jump in. I sold the '80 a couple of years ago, as the '77 was a replacement for it. My '77 is Russet Brown with Buckskin in the middle.

Re: How aboot some pics Of Brown Trucks

Here is my original brown truck, except for the weathered black primer front fenders. After a life of parking outdoors, the color had faded a lot and lost its gloss. This was a shot from the fall of 2009.

And this past fall, I finally got around to some DIY paint.

the new paint was Rustoleum Gloss Leather brown, applied with a roller (and brush in the tighter areas). I spent 2-1/2 days on the project, and around $24 on paint. The rollers to apply it cost more than the paint. Is it perfect, heck no. Is it one consistent color, yes, I have that going for me at least.

Looks a little more like Santa Fe tan in the middle, no? Buckskin is quite a bit darker. Maybe just the pics.

I really like your truck truckfan. Did it come with rally's originally? What color is your interior, buckskin or mandarin orange?

its buckskin, but the '78 I had in HS was mandarin orange. It had full wheel covers and white walls when I got it. The option sheet looks like it came with dog bowls and Blackwalls.

the PO was the original owner. i got the original title, and invoice from the Chevy dealer. its been painted, but its pretty much stock as a rock. i'll post more pics later. i have some great before and afters with the fishing camper on it.

and yes, i believe the center is Santa Fe Tan

Re: How aboot some pics Of Brown Trucks

Years ago I met Jason Hill at his shop in Lubbock when he was working on the "Red Rocker" he told me that one day he'd build a brown truck, because he remembered from his youth that "they were all brown, or at least had brown on them, right...." Maybe one day he'll crank out a Hill's Hot Rodified Brown Truck. You know it'd be cool.

I've thought for a long time this Fall Guy Painted truck looked awesome. Sorry for the quality. It's a small pic from another site.

Here is a pic of a russet brown / buckskin truck I used to have. It still had the factory brocure with it The tan was listed as buckskin.

Re: How aboot some pics Of Brown Trucks

Does anyone have a pic of a truck with the russet brown as the center stripe?

My truck is Russet top/bottom with the tan center stripe. But since it needs rockers and driver's door I was wondering about reversing the color placement. Thoughts? Pictures? Photochops?

Re: How aboot some pics Of Brown Trucks

Also, not trying to harp or be a d*ck truckfan, but when you compare your truck next to this one, you definitely have Santa Fe Tan and not buckskin in your stripe. I am only pointing this out so people are not confused. Buckskin is a much darker color. Both beautiful trucks however.

Dez,

Can you post a profile shot of this truck? I'm debating what colors to go with on my re-paint and was wondering about a cordova/santa fe arrangement like this.
