That's a 69-70 seat bracket.

Subscribed to this, good info here. I have a pair of brackets in the garage I need to look at now, hope to identify exactly what they are from.

Re: 67-72 Bench Seat Bracket Differences
Just wondering what the difference is between the 67-68 and 69-70 bench seat brackets, other than the different rear riser? I bought a '70 full foam seat that the guy had lowered the brackets on, and I picked up a set of spare brackets he had too so I could bring the seat back up to regular height. I came across this thread and now I realize the extra brackets I bought are 67-68. They bolt onto the frame fine, so I'm just wondering if there is a height difference or something between the brackets, or if it is simply a difference in construction/appearance.

Re: 67-72 Bench Seat Bracket Differences
Keith,
Not trying to high jack your thread, it's very interesting and I know that the 67-68 seats both I believe tilt forward, but I don't believe it has anything to do with the seat brackets. Does anyone that you know of repo the drivers side seat brackets for the 69-72 buckets? |

That's why buckets are so high priced. Especially if complete.

Anyone know what the difference is between the 67-68 and 69-70 bench seat brackets, other than the rear riser? Will everything line up properly when I go to install the seat? Don't mean to hijack the thread, I figured this was a good place to ask the question. I can start a new thread if need be, I'm new to the site and still figuring it all out. |

Re: 67-72 Bench Seat Bracket Differences
I can't imagine them interchanging.
They are shaped totally different. I would think the lower seat frame would have to match the year of the bracket. Maybe since you have the 70 seat and the 67-68 seat brackets, you could take a few pictures and tell US the answer.

So to add to the list of seat brackets, I did run across a C60 that had very similar tracks to the 69-70. I was restoring them, when I realized that one of them sat a hair lower than the other set. And there is a piece that is flat, where the other set is angled. Here a pic. The one on the left came out of the 80's C60, the right is the 69-70 track.

I finally got around to getting some pictures of the seat brackets. These are the 67-68 style brackets, and the seat is the 69-70 full foam style. The brackets seem to bolt up fine even though the brackets and seat are from different year ranges. I'm not sure if there is a height difference between the 69-70 brackets and these ones, or if the seat is at a slightly different angle with these brackets, but if there is a difference I would think it would be very minimal. Hope this helps someone else in the future. |

Re: 67-72 Bench Seat Bracket Differences
Wow, there is sure a lot to know about the various seat brackets! Does anyone know if 72 brackets will fit on a 73 bench seat? My seat is toast but the brackets are fine and I found a lead on a nice 73 seat. Thanks!

The 1973-1987 trucks are another generation up from 1967-1972 trucks. The other thing I would check, would be the length of the seat. The 73-80 seats are a bit longer than the earlier style seats. So you want to make sure it will even fit from door to door.

Re: 67-72 Bench Seat Bracket Differences
Thanks TKCR! From other threads it sounds like the best way to go is to hope to find a 88-98 Silverado bench seat, fingers crossed the hunt begins!

Re: 67-72 Bench Seat Bracket Differences
So, as long as we use the same year seat and tracks, they can be used in any 67-72 truck? I found a 70 seat that includes the tracks, that I would like to recover and put in my 71.
It's a plaid highlander seat, so it should be the full foam, right?

As far as it being a full foam, you’ll have to strip the seat down to know for sure.

Re: 67-72 Bench Seat Bracket Differences
So, the 70 seats sat higher than the 71's? I thought the risers were taller to match the seat frames.

Re: 67-72 Bench Seat Bracket Differences
That maybe the case. I would really need to see the underside of the frame & tracks to know better. I would have to compare pics of where they are mounted to the frame.

They will not interchange. Since the 67-68 and 69-70 seat brackets appear to be close, they may interchange. I do not know for sure. All seats sit at the same height.
