Re: 1961 ? GMC 4000 Parts

Would you sell the (2) grey knobs you have (wiper and headlights I think) separate, or would you want to sell the switches too?

If knobs only, how much to 83642?

Thanks!

I have no problem selling them seperate because the switches are probably junk any way. I will get them checked as soon as I can. Do they thread on or do they press on?

Re: 1961 ? GMC 4000 Parts

The wiper should have a set screw, and the headlight should have a release tab on the switch. I would have to look at mine tonight to make sure on the headlight one.

The headlight knob may just unscrew too, like I said, I am not sure. LOL

Thanks!

The assy. looks pretty nice. One of the levers is broken but the others move. I have no idea if the fan swith works but I would guess it does not. The rivets look good. $25.00 plus shipping. Give me a zip code and I will see what I can do on shipping. Thanks

Re: 1961 ? GMC 4000 Parts

I'll take the knobs Todd.

If Rcbildr decides against the heater controls, I would be interested in a price on those shipped to 83642 also.

I'll hold off on paying for the knobs until you hear from Rcbildr.

Thanks!

The knobs are yours. I will let you know if the heater controls do not sell. Do you want me to hold the knobs until the heater controls are paid for? It will be a few days.

I thought I would also include the kick panel vents since you have all the others but I could not get them to come off. Do you know how they come off the cable? Thanks

Re: 1961 ? GMC 4000 Parts

I do not know how the vent knobs come off. I tried to unscrew them, and they just spun. I actually don't need them, so no worries. I'll just go for the $9.00 First Class for the original two knobs. Just let me know when to send the money.

Thanks.

I turned them and pulled on them and they did not seem to want to come off mine either. I just thought if I could get them off I would throw them in the box. Thanks PM sent

I know when I was trying to get the cable knobs off, I noticed the covers have at least surface rust. The cables/ doors would not move when I was pulling on them. The truck is pretty rusty so I would guess they are poor but I will get them check out better as soon as I can and get back to you. Thanks

The right side cover, vent door and door housing are rusted out. The left side vent and housing is rusted but not rusted out of soft anywhere I can find but the cover does have rusted and a couple small hole in one corner. If it is good enough and you are interested let me know and I will see about cost. Thanks

Knobs are in the mail. The shipping was cheaper than estimated so I issued a refund of the difference. Thanks again, Todd
