actually, you can cup the lower a-arms and that will get you down to a 5 or 6" drop in the front....

Hotrod Farm Truck; are those rear 9" wheels stock or did you have them made?

Love the look but wondering if the 9" wheel will rub on my step side?!?! or if I should just go 8". I have 10" smoothie wheels on the rear now and they stick out to far. (in my opinion) planning on a 4"x6" drop or something close, don't want to cut anything, and would still like to pull the boat once in a while.... (might have to bag the rear for that!) ramble on, ramble on!! lol
Slow poke; The rear wheels were made by stockton wheel. They did rub on the inside of the tub when the axle got off center like when crossing a ditch at an angle. To solve this problem I did extend the inside of the tubs 1.5 inch.

Thanks! IIRC it was 45%. I told the tint guy I wanted something that I wouldn't get hassled for in nearby states. It really helps keep the cab cool.

When switching to disc brakes in the front, are my rims going to fit?

Not much of a drop yet. Only a 2" coil drop. Air ride is still a bit down the road. Stock steel on 235/75.

Thanks. I like the look of this old Sub. I did have some later 6 lug rallys on it. Not a bad look but it would rub a bit out back.

This thread and others like it have me rethinking my intentions. I had been on the 20's plan.... but those steelies and fat tires....... look good.

Not mine, but in my neighborhood. I want Bassett or Aero D-Hole wheels but every time I see this one I want to keep my wheels.

Nice pic! Looks like corvette rallys with deep trim rings and of course the center caps.

I assume you mean 6-lug wheels?
Get 71-87 4x4 wheels.
They will work with disc brakes.

Re: pics of lowered trucks with stock steel wheels and caps.

Yeah, I want to stay 6 lug but I would like to stay with the stock 6" wheel with disks on the front if at all possible.... I know there are issues with the caliper hitting... might just stay with drums untill my boys get old enough to work on it with me....

So you can run stock steels with front disc brakes? I think mine are 6.5" Will they work? My discs are 1973 heavy duty 1.25"...
