I know it's not ideal, but I need a tach and a gauge cluster and even though is not right, it's well done:

I also saw that those really nice chrome wing windows off the '68 that the top is chopped off of was still there, and that someone had even removed them for me. Well, one was in the bed and the other was all undone, just needed finessed out of the door. And then I went to another yard I know in Ogden and found a HEI for a six:

And by the way, Mister B, I don't know how I missed you, that was me that was parked right next to you in the green '68 at the Redwood Road yard.
What a coincidence! I must have been paying when you walked through. I did see your sweet truck. I checked it out from every angle. I even told my wife when I got back that I parked out in the boonies, and a guy with a 68 parked next to me so our trucks could keep each other company. I even mentioned how it had a gun rack in the back Window with an ice scraper proudly displayed lol

Anyway, I'm so glad you were able to get as many great parts off it as you did. I saw that vent Window on the ground of all things, and put it in the bed so it wouldn't get stepped on. Glad you were able to rescue it. Damn, you really got some good stuff!

It is, indeed. They have half a dozen or so of various 67-72's. And a pretty good selection of 60-66's, too. And strangely for Utah, the birth place of road salt, some darn nice sheet metal. People must drive their trucks here from SoCal or AZ and then scrap them. Thanks to Mister B for starting this thread.

Another thing I really like about this particular yard is that they always line up the classics in a row just as you walk in, be cars or trucks and every brand. Makes it real handy.

For those that have been there recently is the tailgate still there? And how did the inside look? The rear inner fenders look really nice so I assume the gate is nice as well.

The topper on it helps alot with keeping the box nice. I know I was amazed with my box when I got my truck and I think it can be traced back to it having a topper on it since it was new.

You guys have some nice trucks in the yard out there.

I was there this morning, and it was still there. It is in excellent shape. It doesn't even stick when you pull up on the handle. It opens and closes like butter. One thing I will say, is that the bed has been rhino lined red, so the tailgate has also been lined.

I don't remember seeing any rust on the truck anywhere. Even the drivers side rocker panel and corner is clean. I couldn't see any rust

Lol. Boy, that sure looks like its twin. Maybe I should take the moulding piece off the one at the yard he's missing, and mail it to him lol.

Re: Check out this fresh peach that was newly added to the junk yard

So in your experience with this place what price do you think they would put on the gate and the inner tubs. I dont care about the rhino lining.

I also want the spindles, center link, tie rods, etc to convert mine to disc. any idea on what they would want for those. I realize they would have to come off the GMC that you had a pict of.

Well, yesterday I bought the original rear view mirror and mount, all of the tailgate upper and lower trim, the front hood emblem, the gear selector, and the turn signal lever. I believe they charged me $26 for everything. Today, I went back and bought a tail light trim for $1.80. I was also thinking of buying a chrome front bumper off a '68, and they quoted me $45. So, hopefully that gives you an idea. They can probably quote over the phone for you. They don't care that its a classic truck or whatever. All parts on all cars are priced the same. So, buying moulding for a '69 Chevrolet truck, is good to be the same as an '05 mini van lol.

Here's their info, which also contains their phone number http://www.tearapart.com/

Also, I purchased a '69 grill down the street at a different yard a couple weeks ago for $37. It included the inner and outer grilles, all the mounts, the headlight trim rings, and the turn signals.

Not sure if they would ship it. It takes about an hour to remove from the truck, and it's oversized to ship

Dang Dang Dang Dang!!!! I would have scooped that baby up in a heartbeat. Glad you guys got good parts off of it. I may have to go checkout the doors on it. If it stays slow at work today I'll just go down the street and have a look.

As I recall, they are in great shape and shut nicely. I looked at the driver rocker panel, and there's no rust! How can that be?

I'll ask the same question as Joey. Whats it worth to you in time and shipping for the complete '70 grill?

I'm pretty sure it's hammered. If you look at the drivers side, it doesn't look worth using. The pic is cut off on the passenger side, but the part you CAN see is pretty mangled

If I were able to do something, I wouldn't charge you. The problem, is that I don't know if I'll have time to make it over there this week, and by that time it may be gone. Also, the inner and outer grilles are pretty darn big and fairly heavy. I just don't know how I would find a box, and fuss with getting it protected and shipped. I really wish I could help, and I feel bad, but I think I'll have to bow out in this one

Re: Check out this fresh peach that was newly added to the junk yard

I hope someone from the board got the tailgate cause its gone. The radiator is halfway pulled and the brackets are missing too. I didn't get nothing off the truck cause the guys here beat me to all the good parts. Did you see that 64 k10 with a big block? I saw they want to 5.99 for steel wheels plus 2.99 core. Who charges a core for wheels hahaha?

Sorry you weren't able to find anything on it, but with something that clean, it'll be picked over quickly.

I did see that truck. I think. The black step side, right? Beautiful truck

Go try Pick n Pull on about 33 rd south. That's where I bought my grille a couple weeks ago. They have a 70 K10/20 and a 71 GMC. Both have tailgates, although I think the chevy one is pretty rusted. The gmc one might be pretty good though

I wasn't after the gate I just wanted to check it out. It breaks my heart seeing a rig this clean getting ripped apart but at least some of the parts went to good homes.
