Re: 1970 swb c-10
Tried to get a picture showing what it looks like after the cut and buff. Not sure how well these cell phone pics will turn out, but It looks pretty decent in person. I'll have to get pics with the real camera this weekend.

Re: 1970 swb c-10
Progress. I got the bed back on, and trim on the passenger side. Rolled it outside and took a couple pictures in the sun. I am VERY happy with the way its turning out so far.

Thanks to everyone for the compliments!!
Jimmy, I still have the wheels. I'll probably put them on before long. I plan on kinda going back and forth between them and the rallies. I like both looks. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 1970 swb c-10
Got the rear bumper on, along with the drivers side trim. Putting the trim on was a pain due to the fact that I should have put a few of the pieces on before putting on the front clip. That was a lesson learned the hard way. I also got the strikers and door latches in. The doors are aligned and seem to shut very well. I am waiting on all my rubber for the doors and windows to come from GMC Pauls. Once I get the doors are all together, I'll start with the AAW wiring harness.
Pics of todays progress

Re: 1970 swb c-10
Thanks man! We will definatly have to do that when we get done. I'm really shooting for July 4th as my target day. Its all going to depend on how long it takes me to wire it. Im thinking that its going to take a long time, but who knows. Do you have any time frame in mind on when you're wanting to be done? If you ever need a hand, let me know. It could be an excuse for me to go to Bass Pro also

Re: 1970 swb c-10
I got my parts from GMC Pauls today. I intstalled the push on door weatherstrip this evening after work. As others have said, those are the only way to go. 10 min to put on both sides and they look great. I can tell that these seal better than the originals by how hard it is to shut the door. I think after time it will get easier so I am not too worried about it.
I hope to have the glass in and doors completly assembled by the end of the weekend. (im not sure if I have the guts to put the front glass in)

Re: 1970 swb c-10
What brand is your rear bumper? It looks nice and straight. Seems like a lot of the repro bumpers I see here on the forum have a slight bow to them.

Re: 1970 swb c-10
I have noticed that also. This is the "premium" bumper from LMC. I don't remember the brand or if the box even said.

Re: 1970 swb c-10
Progress has been slowed by life throwing a few things at me all at once like it has a tendency to do from time to time. But I managed to make some minor progress anyway. I got the back window in, new door latches and window regulators, Side windows, and wing windows in with all new rubber that I got from GMC Pauls. (Very nice quality parts btw) I cant believe how much difference it makes having all new rubber and window regulators. The windows have zero rattle, and roll up and down like new. I also got the bed floor lined and got the new AAW dash harness in and mostly terminated. Ill get some more specific pictures later when I get a chance. For now heres a pic of the floor of the bed, and one of my "helper"
