Re: My Old 66 chevy
Here's some pictures of the exhaust system. Mufflers are in a temporary position so that When I paint the frame the exhaust system will easily drop out when I pull the motor. Gonna put the mufflers underneath the bed( were they belong).

Re: My Old 66 chevy
I've noticed in other posts that aftermarket headers where the buyer has welded up the flange to the pipes instead of the tack welding to the exhaust pipes to the flanges. I'm curious if you have had any problems with leaks or if the pipes stick out a 1/16th more than the flange which will cause a better seals. have a 292 and am wanting to get some more power. want something different than 350 that'll get up and go. yeah i know a 292 is for towing but....

I don't know! I haven't even made a video of it yet! I'll try to put it on youtube and then post it here. Forum has been doing maintenance and they won't let me upload pictures at the moment. Will post a video here soon. Thanks everyone!

Re: My Old 66 chevy
So I decided to wire the fuel pump on my truck to a switch in the cab so I could turn the fuel pump on and off manually....Well...Thant did not turn out to well. After I had hooked everything up I took it for a drive and on my way back(only 2 miles from home) I smelled smoke under the dash and turned out that my wires melted themselves together causing the pump to short and the truck to die. So, with the help of my handy screw driver I shoved the pump wire on the hot side of the battery and drove it home. I don't know why they melted together cause I had a 14 gauge hot wire going to the switch and a 12 gauge wire going to the pump. There was no fuse so I am glad I did not blow my pump. So I hooked it back up to the starter and know all I do is turn the key and off we go...I hope! good ole chevy!

Re: My Old 66 chevy
That ol 64 runs better than my 66! Probably cause it has 50,000+ miles less than mine. The 66 292 has a strange popping noise. Checked compression all at 94 pounds. I think my cam might be flat in spots or maybe I have a bad valve spring.

Re: My Old 66 chevy
you could probably use a valve adjustment mine are getting noisy again after just 3,000 miles or so i also run 15-40w oil to quiet them down.
