what is the story here? what am i missing? my brother has a set off his old square, 6 lug just been sitting in the backyard for 5-6 years, we were going to take them to the scrappy for beer money.

obviously they are worth more to others than to me, WHY?

because some of us children of the 70`s remember seeing all types of cars/trucks sporting slots and can appreciate the look of it!!!
if you were closer i would be all over those wheels!!!!

Izzy, have you posted this pic in the forum that this one goes in? There might be someone over there interested and able to save it.

Re: Bound for the CRUSHER

Cars/trucks from the southwest that go to the crusher are depressing. Money could be made for sure.

My favorite square on slots...

I have not. it was not my intention to post these trucks as 'for sale' items, but rather as a sad display of what happens when no one cares. as i have said before, i wish i could save a few but time, money and storage space is a huge limiting factor for me.

if an admin member would be willing to move this thread to a more general forum covering all years it might get some more coverage and there may be the rare opportunity for some salvation of a select few.

I will post this picture in the for sale section of the proper year range.

Yep! those are similar to vw microbus windows only larger. I was only there long enough to take photos of a truck that my employer wanted to buy and this caught my eye so i snapped a quickie.

Re: Bound for the CRUSHER

Here in the northeast, those trucks are near perfect. Trucks that are bound for the crusher here, can be crushed with a brick. Bodies, frames, etc are so rusty you can poke a hole in them with your finger. Every good part, including motor and tranny are plucked.

My 83 has a cab thats beyond repair, and my 87 dump has a mighty weak frame. These photos (especially the crushed brown truck and the blue SB) are literally making me sick. This thread needs a Sarah McLaughlin song in the background.
