Re: '69 SWB | Zoie Jane

No new updates really. I just bought a new house and have a nice heated shop to work in now. Im currently in Canada for 6 weeks but once I get back I plan to get my truck moved to my new place and get things going again. I was thinking of getting it drivable and rocking the patina for a few years. That'd give me time to work the bugs out and save up for paint.

That's a great plan. When I get back on my '65, I plan on building the chassis the way I want, them put the body back on with no bodywork/paint to work the bugs out..

I say rock it!

Re: '69 SWB | Zoie Jane

I finally got truck and all my parts moved into my new garage. So I should be back at it again soon. My job training is also complete so I'll be home more often now too. Life is good!

Started mocking up the bed. Trying to figure out how I want to mount the bed and do the raised wood floor.

Re: '69 SWB | Zoie Jane

I finally placed the order for my front DM. I'm excited for it to arrive so I can get the ball rolling on this build.

Ive been keeping my eye out for a deal on an LQ9, still haven't found the right one yet, but I'm in no rush since I'm not ready for the engine yet anyways.

Re: '69 SWB | Zoie Jane

I decided to go with the captain fab brackets and wilwood d52 calipers. I ordered the black slotted and dimpled rotors that Keith used on Tiffany.

Re: '69 SWB | Zoie Jane

I got my upper control arms installed but the bolts appear to be too long. Anyone else run into this?

You can see i have about 4-5mm of bolt sticking through without any threads.

You're probably going to need shims when the front end is aligned, but I agree, a little shorter bolts would still probably work.

Re: '69 SWB | Zoie Jane

Nice progress!

I think I used a washer under the head of the upper control arm bolts to bring them out a little so I could get the nut tightened. Like said above you'll likely be shimming them out anyway for alignment.
