Werd. Texas isn't so bad, either. Our governor shot a coyote while jogging. If you process that, you know the 2nd amendment is pretty safe here. That, and out death row seems to have an express lane. Not sure if that is so much a crime deterrent, but it should be.

Re: HYPOTHETICALLY speaking....

I have never been to Cali so I can't say anything about it. However if there was going to be one bad thing about it I would say you might miss the weather there. If I read right you are from southern cali and probably don't see alot of snow and cold weather.

Re: HYPOTHETICALLY speaking....

went and looked at the dually...it needs a bed. The left rear fender is broken and the same side is pretty dented..also needs tires...not sure if it's "The ONE". I did find a SUPER clean utility bed dually and I mean SUPER clean. Been really considering this one. I could mount my tool boxes in the utility sides, have more storage area to carry stuff and a rack on top to carry the kids' beds plus the capability to tow a trailer...any ideas..opinions?

Is your 76 a short or long box?
You can disconnect the driveshaft.
Someone beat me too it, but I would also say this is your best option.

Re: HYPOTHETICALLY speaking....

Towing with a heavy truck like that crew with a 454 might be a problem . If you don't know the condition of the cooling system then I would keep the half ton. Cross country trips with a big block can be eventful and that's probably not what you need. I am a fan of your blue half ton. Crew cab not so much. Load the sub, the truck , and pull the yota behind the '76. I would think that would be the easiest trip.
