These were 88-94 buckets. (power on drivers side) Shortened the backs by cutting the headrest pans off the frames before reupholstery. He was still able to use the factory molded foam this way... just trim it. My fuel tank is moved out of the cab, but a stereo panel takes up the space now. I spaced the seats for console/ leg room.. marked the floor and drilled. 3/8" bolts welded to 1/4" backing were brought up from under the floor and through the factory holes in the seats. Once I was happy with the spacing, etc... it was all welded home under the cab. Carpet/underlay installed, seats secured with washers and locknuts

Question for ya Molberg: I noticed the lower frame (base that bolts to floor) is much different from other 88-94 truck seats. Can you recall what the seats came out of originally? I like that base look.

Thanks! They were from an extended cab... They do the unlock and slide ahead thing for rear entry. 1992 I believe.

Do you know what year(s) of Chevy/GMC's with the extended cab, had those front seats? Did it have to be a full Crew Cab or did all extended cabs have those seats from the factory?

Real curious on this ... if anybody else has knowledge, please jump in too.

88-94 extended cab to the best of my knowledge. No 3rd door yet.. So the seat brackets were different to enable passengers in the rear seats. (Fold and slide ahead) not needed on a full crew

Thanks for the info here. I just redid my stock seat and damn, I'm high in the cab. So I'm going to make custom brackets that won't move to lower the seat down. Pics to follow

These are the 98 Silverado 40/20/40 seats I'm using in my 69 K20.



Here are a couple pics of the brackets I am using to mount the seats. My intent was to reinforce the floor to some extent due to the fact that these seats have the integrated seat belts. The mounting holes on these seats do not match the existing holes so what I did was add these plates to the top of the floor and then I have also made three plates that go under the floor.



There is a section of C channel welded to the front bracket that the middle seat attaches to.





Underneath the truck I have this plate that is in the raised area below the front bracket.



Then I have two additional plates that both go perpendicular to this plate. One is about 5" wide and connects the front seat bracket to the rear seat bracket nearest to the transmission. Then I have a plate that is about 1 1/2" wide that connects the front seat bracket to the rear seat bracket nearest to the door. My intent is that with these brackets tied together from the bottom of the floor to the top of the floor, I have reinforced the floor where the seats bolt in.

Here are the brackets I am using under the floor to attempt to reinforce the floor - they tie into the brackets above the floor.













You can hardly tell I have brackets under the carpet and insulation to assist with mounting these seats.





Definitely a tighter fit. Here are a couple pics I took with me in the seat. I'm just under 6' - some one taller than that or with long legs will want to really give some thought to whether to change to this style of seat.







I wish the seats could recline a bit more but they are just too big to move forward enough to allow that to happen.

I just installed these in my Ramp rat truck.
I used the front 2 floor holes as my starting points so the seat has some room to adjust.

They are higher. I like sitting up in the cab though but I can wear a hat and still have head room.

Here's mine from a while ago. excuse the mess, It was being rewired at this point. seats are out of a 2000 or so suburban second row I believe. Cut them down a few inches and made brackets to use the existing bolt holes. They fit pretty far back and fairly low. pretty comfortable and they still fold forward and out of the way.

loving this thread. I am in the middle of a frame off resto 67 SWB. my bucket seats of choice are any that will heat & cool. Does anyone have any info on any seats that they have installed in there 67-72 that heat & cool? If you guys think I am highjacking this thread I can start my own. regardless any info is appreciated.

I had late model Silverado seats (2000ish) in my truck at one point and a ton of people still have them. Not 100% sure but the newer Silverado ones I would assume are about the same and the 2010 gmc Yukon danali had heated and cooled. maybe someone can confirm if those are the same as the Silverado ones and would work or not

I installed '94 Chevy Suburban buckets and console, don't recall a lot of mods to the floor or brackets but they were super comfortable. Very, very close at the shifter arm / console position as I ran the 3-spd on the floor for a while before planning an auto and B&M Megashifter Truck series. I'm 6'-4" and this is a set-up I'd do again if I don't go with the 67-72 buckets on my '69. Sorry the pics are blurry, recaptured images circa 1994...

thx Devil PUP, my 67 is getting re-built with the motor, tranny, & computer from an 08 I bought that was wrecked. It had neither but it was a lower end vehicle. Can anyone confirm or deny that early 2000's Silverado had heated and cooled seats?

OST. I've wanted to replace my stock bench for a while.

Has anyone tried the TMI seats in LMC? They arent cheap, but neither is finding a nice set of OEM seats and getting them re-upholstered.

please post your thoughts; it's really hard to get an idea of how comfortable a seat is going to be by looking at the pictures. I'm wondering if anyone might make contoured foam to fit in the original buddy buckets-?

That is a winner combo right there. Those are pretty comfy and they are not too thick.
