Re: 55-1 S-10 Chassis Swap

I installed new door opening mechanisms or as the catalog calls them door controls, my question is are they supposed to fit like they do because my door panels don't fit over them like I think they would the panel bulges out and the flat bar rubs against the door panel as well just wondering if this is correct

Re: 55-1 S-10 Chassis Swap

Well I guess I will wait for warmer weather to make another attempt at installing my glass it's 65 degrees inside the shop and I hung the rubber and bead lock in front of the heat lamp for an hour before I started trying to put it together and this is as far as I got with it I kept gouging up the chrome bead lock and I'm not happy with how I ended up with a gap in the rubber either oh well live and learn won't have a chance to work on it again for at least a week gotta wrap a big a_ _ truck but it's extra money to buy parts that are just gonna sit

Re: 55-1 S-10 Chassis Swap

I would like to give a big thanks to Jerry at Dr Js restoration for an awesome job on my vent windows I gave up on trying to rivet the rubber on because the rivets I got where to long and I tried to shorten them but it would not work, I sent them to Jerry and he put them back together and installed my new glass I'm super happy his work and quick turnaround

Re: 55-1 S-10 Chassis Swap

I wasn't going to tub the bed, but I'm thinking if I'm going to possible put some bigger tires on it later on I might as well do it now, and someone posted some nice tubs that they are using and I really like them, It's been in the last month if anyone has seen them let me know it was so I can look in to getting them

Re: 55-1 S-10 Chassis Swap

Dancarpenter.com $310 a pair. 28 wide and 11 high.made of 16 gauge steel. They come in 2 3/4,4 and 7 inch depths. Very well built. They suggest glueing them in, but the glue is $100. So I'm welding mine.

Re: 55-1 S-10 Chassis Swap

My 52 had those same door strikers, I bought a 53 and it had totally different strikers and its doors closed way better than my 52. Ordered a pair from truckandcarshop.com for like around 15 bucks and it was a night and day differance. This is what they look like.
