Re: 1953 Burb build

Got my frame done...should have a roller by the end of the week.
Really need to get going on this.....kind of stalled with life getting in the way.
Always something to do.

Re: 1953 Burb build

Got all my sand blasting done,
Frame is done ready to put motor and trans in as soon as I get the power steering hoses figured out.
GM type 2 box to a MustangII rack is not easy.
A few fittings from speedway and I should be good to go.
Brake lines and Fuel ready

Nope...hoping to have it complete by early fall.
It will slow down with nothing but bodywork left.
Also need to figure out a headliner.
The rest of the interior is complete in my head just need to get some ABS , carpet and material

Help that my FIL is retired so he works on it about 4 hours a day....but he does not do body work

That looks awesome. What are you running for a fuel tank. I like that you didn't have to remove the rear cross member. Is it going to be top fill?

Got it from Brothers on sale.
It is top fill but will be below the floor with a trick trap door in the wood floor.
Haven't built it yet but I have the idea

If it is not too much trouble can you take some more pics of the tank and how well it fits in the frame. Is the EFI pump in the tank?

Looking good man

Re: 1953 Burb build

I will get a few pics of the tank
http://www.brotherstrucks.com/prodin...number=SGT4753

It bolts in using tabs that come with the tank. It is a little higher in price compared to what I paid at the time ( $285) it is the same one I run in my truck.
I don't know that you can get a in tank pump inside of it.
It is plumbed for a inline pump.
I like that for a few reasons:
1. I have a pump on the shelf
2. The MSD pump I am using is quiet
3. If it ever take a dump it is two wires and two fittings.... 30 minute change on the side of the road

Pics to follow

Re: 1953 Burb build

The tank install looks great. I am glad to see that you used the steel tank because that is the one I think I am going to get. I might have to cap off those fittings for the fuel because I think I am going to run an Aeromotive Phantom in tank pump set up.

Thanks Iceburg for the pics and info.
Good points about the external fuel pump.
