1972 c10 mud truck project
Hey all just got my new project yesterday it's a 1972 custom 10 factory air, currently no motor trans or rear axle, but my plans are to sas it with somewhere around 10-12in of lift on around 40s, gonna do a cheaper restoration on the body but most of the rust is on the roof and inside roof around the windshield, and the bed floor, but I traded a golf cart and mower for it. It's gonna be street legal, gonna be a fun project.

Got the bed pulled and wow it's roached out on the floor, all the bolts were rusted off, all I had to do was lift it off.

Got the front axle today it's a 10 bolt with 4:10 gears
Tomorrow I'm getting the rear end which is a full floater 14bolt ANYBODY DONE A SAS ON ONE BEFORE? If so can I get details?

So you use the original 2wd frame with the 4wd running gear? Was it originally a leaf spring truck? Looks like a fun project. I'm in!

Yep but originally was coil, I got 1/4in plate to build the spring hangars

Thought my plans over for it more and I think that it is going to be a custom flat bed and painted silver because the original bed is shot...
Didn't finish pullin the front suspension yep but almost there.

Yeah it's alright but has a few dents and the rear is gonna be leaf springs I'm getting rid of the trailing arms

Hey nice project! I have a '71 GMC Sierra Grande 2500 2wd that im looking on makin a 4wd. What year was that front axle you used? Did you have to do any major modifications or did it bolt right up? Will be following this one!

Thanks, it is an 87 corporate 10 bolt, and had to make front spring mounts and for the rear of the axle i have to drill a hole in the frame and put a a sleeve in along with bushings, have not done the second part yet but will be coming up on the build and for the front hangars you can see in the build pics above and on the first page
