Looks like those guys have done some great work. Who did your powder coating?
I grew up in Tyler, moved away in '96 and got back to Longview in 2002. My sister still lives in Tyler. For your 6.0, are you staying with the EFI or switching it to a carb?

It's a place in Flint, Tx called Ace Powder coating. They turn out some great looking stuff. I'm thinking of letting them powder coat the core support, frame and axle housings (and other misc stuff) instead of POR15. Not sure yet on that. I'm going fuel injection. I don't think that I'd ever put a carb on an LS motor.

I sold my double wall top a few days ago. It was in decent shape, so I had a hard time convincing myself to sell it. But, now I don't have to deal with storing it and taking it on and off. Hopefully I won't regret that decision. I'm thinking about a black Soft Topper but your idea of a bikini top has me thinking about getting that instead. Oh well, I have plenty of time to figure it out.

I'm going to replace the four bolts that hold the transfer case to the transmission. Only two of the bolts, supplied by Advance Adapters, fit. One of these days I want to get a big bolt bin, full of zinc plated grade 8 bolts, nuts, flat washers and lock washers. Then I wont be running to the hardware store buying a hand full at a time.

Time to pull out the factory cross member so I can install the Pacific Fabrication cross member. It's made to swap LS motors in these old 4x4s.

You can see the passenger side is notched out so it doesn't interfere with the brake lines, that run along the inside of the frame rail.

I pulled the brake lines off to make the installation of the cross member easier. Plus I've got new stainless brake lines ordered from Inline Tube, so they would have to come off in order to check the fit of the new brake lines anyway. (picture was taken before I removed the brake lines)

The driver's side is not notched out. There's a brake line that runs along the inside of the frame on that side too, so I'm not sure why it's not notched out like the other side. I'll either notch it out myself or do some custom brake lines on that side.

Nice work so far, is it possible to swap crossmember right to left, so the notch will clear brake lines. Just a thought.....

I just realized that it has been over a year since this motor has been ran. It has been sitting on a motor stand in my shop and I haven't turned it over by hand or anything.And I probably won't fire it up for a few more months. So, I pulled all the spark plugs out and squirted motor oil in each cylinder, cleaned the plugs, and put them back in.
