Anyone know what screw is used to hold the hatch handle to the hatch?
You had an image from Totally Stainless, are those correct

5/16-18x1 Phillips Jack Oval?

If so, Totally Stainless has them they make as you order.

Mike I'll have to dig. I had four OEM bolts but one got misplaced and I've got the spare holder bolted in place with newer bolts. Iirc mine have the same marking and also used a star washer.

Re: Name that bolt/nut/screw size

Mike - dug these out. I believe these to be OEM bolts for a spare tire carrier. "WB" on head just like those in your pic. 7/16" threads 1" thread length - threads are fine. I need one more!

Re: Name that bolt/nut/screw size

I replaced all the bolts on my truck but didn't worry too much about keeping them original. I did however keep them all in a bucket. I never thought that someone would actually want these one day.
The "WB" on the ones pictured above is the manufacturer, and I'm sure that company is long out of business because There's basically no fastener companies left in North America.

HAHAHA !! A classic scene.

I plan on keeping everything I took off my truck. Someday it will have a new owner, and I want to make sure it can be brought back to it's original condition with all it's original parts.

Condensate drain for the engine compartment side of an a.c. unit. 😁
I did not realize there was a spring clamp that held it in place...

Re: Name that bolt/nut/screw size

Seeing this thread makes me feel better about degreasing, tumbling and sorting all of my auto fasteners.

And... the multiple size thread checker on a cable is one of my favorite purchases.

Question for those that have had bolts refinished, How do you keep track of what you send out? Is it expensive compared to buying new? Zinc coating is what I would be looking for.

Re: Name that bolt/nut/screw size

Don't I WISH I had used those trays! I've grouped bolts into zip lock bags for clear zinc replating then resorted shortly after they were finished and before I forgot where they went. You can use some Corvette parts suppliers as a barometer for the expense of buying some of the correct bolts new. Replating bolts and screws isn't expensive.

Lol, I have always done Ziploc bags in cardboard boxes. I finally decided that I had to sort and organise. It took a couple of weeks. I bought a black phosphate kit to help restore some of the bolts. Not sure I like it. I will look into the restoration and zinc coatings a bit more tgis winter. Have you ever looked at the home plating kits?

Lol! Ziploc bags and boxes....yep. Haven't tried the home brew kits. Someone posted here they were disappointed with their home done results but that's just an N of one. FYI- the hood hinges, hood latches, and door strikers look great when redone w black phosphate.

Re: Name that bolt/nut/screw size

I know this is an old thread however it came in real handy as I lost the screws between removing Sill Plates and reinstalling them!

"Door Sill Plate screws, #8x1.00 Panhead #2 Phillips"
I installed Stainless Steel screws

Re: Name that bolt/nut/screw size

Screw/bolt size of blazer hatch strut to the blazer top? Strut to hatch are 1/4" as I have the hatch.

I don't have the top near me, are they 1/4 or 5/16" ...I seem to think they are 5/16. I am buying some hardware to fix the broken threaded side in the top and don't want to have to make multiple trips...Thanks!

Re: Name that bolt/nut/screw size

Hey guys - I saw someone referenced MSC for bolts in a previous post. I buy fastners often for projects at work, and am very ocd about having the correct fastner for the job. Just wanted to share the best website in the world for finding bolts. McMaster-Carr. (https://www.mcmaster.com/) enjoy!
