everyone gets behind schedule, life has a way of doing that.
I have been looking around but cant find the information. I have been looking at mounting the box, but I don't have a distance of how far off the cab is the front bed cross member. Would you happen to know how far from the cab its mounted, or what would be the best way of figuring out the distance.

Hey sarge, don't sweat man, you got some things on your plate. I know the feeling of feeling behind, I'm sure most of us do. When you juggle family, income, projects etc 7days a week surely aint enough.
Jyman, I'd advise putting rear fenders on box, front fenders up front and put your running boards in between them. Then try and get front and rear fenders lined up with your wheels to your liking, thats the best way to get your box where you want it. The magic number might exist but every build is gonna vary. Its like building a puzzle man, one piece at a time.

Jyman; I always block the box up, then block up the running boards, and bolt them to the rear fender. Slide the box forward until the filler panel has about a 3/8" gap between it and the cab. With S10 frames I always move the rear end 1" forward by building "offset" spring blocks. Makes the wheels center really nice in the fenders. As I said before, no 2 cabs are the same, so I wouldn't want to publish a number that would likely be wrong for your application. 99; you said it bro, lotsa irons in the fire. New shop loan was approved, so now I gotta find some time to build that as well...

Ac comp and bracketry are in. $140 for the compressor, and $325 for the Holley bracket and crap you need to install it... Figures, their tech line SUCKs too!

mocked up the front end, grille, boards, and bed. Got the left side permanently attached. Working the right side tomorrow. Had to pull that pass fender to finish up the recession for the AC compressor. Ride height is right at 5 7/8" now with some weight added to it.

Bed is positioned, but I won't drill the holes and mount it till both the boards are mounted. That way I can ensure it's nice and square. New bed floor height is right on top of the side rails now, rather than below. I had to cut the top of the gas tank crossmember by about 1/2" for clearance on the bed wood, and weld an 1/8" strap in to replace the metal that was removed. More tomorrow, camping with the boys this weekend, so nothing new till Monday after tomorrow.

I've looked at mine and thought about removing or modifying that crossmember, but still not 100% sure I'm not using the oe s10 tank so don't want to do too much to it yet. It's not interfering with my bed height, but it could stand to be lower... If I keep the s10. Tank I may do the same thing. Nice work! I'm really jealous of the time you have to devote to this! Too many irons in the fire and my project always gets put dead last. Have a great weekend. We are doing the camping thing Memorial Day weekend!

Almost finished with this one. Some shipping foul-up has delayed the thermostat housing and AC condenser. They should be here Wed. now, for a clean finish by this weekend.

Here's the radiator/fan setup. It's tight, but it fits. The last shot is the trans tunnel, fit around the Lokar shifter.

First pic is the plate style transmission cooler I like to use, and brackets. Remaining pics are the AC unit that the owner chose. Under-dash, to keep the costs down. It will still cool the truck quite well, I'm sure.

This is the owners GPS speedometer from Speedhut. It was formerly attached to the steering column kind of like a tach would be. Now integrated into the stock gauge cluster. The hole in the face is for the program button.
I'm still waiting on the straight water neck, and the condenser to arrive. they are supposed to be here tomorrow, so I'm shooting to get this one back home (Topeka) by Friday, Saturday latest, for several cruise events there.

New thermostat housing finally arrived. Here's the "riser" for the shift boot, the routing for the AC lines, and the "mock up" position of the rear bumper.

Here's the AC setup all finished, and the front bumper install. I flip the brackets side for side, so that it tucks it up closer to the grill, and increases ground clearance at the nose.
