Great looking truck! What kind of wiring harness did you use? Any tips or pointers from it?

Thumbs up Re: 65 GMC Suburban 4x4 Restorod Project

Wish I could do an underdash system like that in my 82. Problem is, unlike 72 and earlier trucks, the bottom of the dash is only a 2-3" from the heater floor outlet, and around 6" from the firewall.

I really like your Burb. Have you come up with a way to protect the patina and surface rust? Maybe some paint company makes a clear sealer. I'd call PPG, DuPont and others.

1969 C10 (not the current one) that I bought in the early 1980s. Paid $1200; sold for $1500 a few years later. Just a hint at the appreciation that was coming.

Thanks Dodgiesdad. We used a 20 circuit painless fuse box with relays for the bigger draw stuff like A/C, headlights, cooling fans etc.

Thanks Mike. I talked to a local bodyshop guy who seems to think just doing a flat clear is the answer to inhibiting future rust. We'll see...

Re: 65 GMC Suburban 4x4 Restorod Project

A lot of people are using CLR and a Scottbright pad. Then a flat clearcoat.
