Re: !964 Biscayne. Birdie Sue.
Thanks! at the closest part on the pan theres only 1/8th clearance which makes me nervous. but everything is solid so I dont think there should be any issues. Ill def keep an eye on it.

Re: !964 Biscayne. Birdie Sue.
Went yesterday and worked and ran into a few small issues. For one the tv cable bracket that is oem was not holding the cable tight enough. there was alot of play in it. welded it up and grind it down some. fits TIGHT now. Im happy.
Next I noticed the bags were rubbing the rear. dangit. good thing I made this adjustable adjusted out as far as id take it comfortably barely clears but it does. I dont think the frame can lift this high tho when the car is back together. it clears until like the last 1/4 in of the frrame lifting to the max if theres a issues still I will make bumpstops a few pics of the trans installed for good I had a few other issues but I dont even want to bring those up lol. Hopefully putting the body on tomorrow or thursday.

Re: !964 Biscayne. Birdie Sue.
Progress! Pneumatic jacks like that are iffy to say the least. I lowered it down and Had backed it underneath pretty straight because it took very minimum movement to line it up. Looks good wish it was lower.

Re: !964 Biscayne. Birdie Sue.
How about some progress and pics?
First thing I did after I got the car back in the shop I torqued the mounts and got the bumpers on. One thing I never thought about when building the shock tabs was if they would even clear the body.. and boy did I get lucky When I went to put on the rear bumper I wanted it to look good. Before it was crooked and the piece that clips to the bumper was loose and all bent up. Well I got it on and bolted up pretty straight. Good. The other piece I wasnt sure how it was supposed to go but I took a few bolts and made it look good. Well way better then before the bottom wouldnt stay sucked in so i welded a little tab on the rear crossmember and put a bolt in it. made it look better and stiffened it up overall The front bumper was a pain in the you know what. Fought it and cussed it til success. When I went to hook up the steering shaft I had a little issue from my shock tower. Problem solved Then I built shift linkage to operate the 700r4 of the factory column linkage Getting there I think after I get her driving and give a good hand scrubbin and wash under the hood she will look pretty good My buddy who is working on the interior with me avs digital gauge Gauge and 9 switch box Love the steering wheel in this Should be his permanent home in the future Took the seats out to run all the wires and install everything Took the old ashtray guide out and welded a support across the bottom and then two small bracket to hold the gauge. Lit up I dont want any electronics seen when I have it parked. I think im just goin to get 4 small magnets and epoxy them to each corner so It will just hold itself up there. The switch box is mounted under the seat where i can still see and access the fuse. The box will just come up over the front and sit in the seat. Wiring has never been tampered with on the car and EVERYTHING works. I enjoved doing the wiring today And a key chain a Lady friend made me. Hope yall like the progress. Im getting there. The eng needs the starter and thats it. Trans needs the cooler/lines done. And the major thing I need is my driveshaft cutdown. Other then that install the airride in the trunk and go turn some heads.!

Re: !964 Biscayne. Birdie Sue.
Cool project.
What/who did you use for body mounts? Were the body mounts around the rear axle rotted off (on the body side)? There is a common body mount for water to collect in x-frame cars and even mint vehicles will have them rotted. |

Re: !964 Biscayne. Birdie Sue.
I got some magnets and they work well. Im happy with it
Then I got the supplies to finish the wiring. Amp kit and some 8 gauge for the compressors Fuse with heat shrink Mounted under the fender the amp 4 gauge and the 8 gauge wrapped and ran thro the firewall Wire everywhere Speaker wire, rca cables, remote wire, 8 wires for the valves, the 4 and 8 gauge, and the 5 harnesses for the psi. put 2 pioneer 4.5s in the dash And a quick pic as I went to leave The interior is all back in. I need a stereo and a toggle to complete all the electronics install on the inside. the stereo is going under the seat underneath me. Merry Christmas fellas

Re: !964 Biscayne. Birdie Sue.
Not too much more progress. Got some parts today. Ran a couple wires I forgot. Main thing was cutting out the holes and mounting the 4 speakers across the back. What a pain in the a$$! Got them done tho. Built a wood trim piece too. it will be wrapped in foam then a mexican blanket so they wont be seen.
[URL=http://s86.photobucket.com/user/nickle4lfe/media/birdie%202/speakers2_zps2bae82c6.jpg.html][/URL 2 kicker 6.5 and 2 pioneer 5.5 those brackets wont stay and cut this out. the air tank, valves and wiring will be under here.

Re: !964 Biscayne. Birdie Sue.
Not much progress but hey its what I got.
Under the hood I finally put the starter up. Only thing left will be the airfilter, fluids, and I ordered an aluminum radiator and trans cooler. Decided to mount the compressors over to the side I wired wheeled and painted in here with rustoleom gloss black. The plan will be to clean up all the wiring when its done and I would like to spray the trunk with some black spatter or bed liner type material. The board will be hinged and wrapped hiding everything but the compressors. The paint looks pretty good. There's saw dust down in the I need to blow out of there. Psi sensor and Press switch Relays mounted. Built up 1 out of the 4 sets of valves. SMC 3/8 valves. Pressure sensor. Half in. line.

Re: !964 Biscayne. Birdie Sue.
I dont think anyone likes my build lol. Ill keep posting though.
Made some progress today with the rear speaker panel Got some paint and the Mexican blanket I ordered. As you can see the paint matches the tan interior alittle better then the tan mexican blanket does. I dig it tho Some of the metal can be seen so I wire wheeled it sanded and paint it the tan used spray glue and foam board. I wasnt sure how I was gonna like the foam board but im more then happy with it I cut out the foam where the speakers are wrapped it Done, you can barely see the gap that I painted tan I love it More to come tomorrow
