Thanks! That cab lifting device Vic made was an absolute breeze to use, only took a few minutes by my lonesome! I think it took longer to attach the device than it did to drop it on the frame!

Ok, so I started hanging the right bedside, and I noticed the body lines between the cab and the bedside are off, like an inch or so.couple of pieces of info on my truck, the chassis is a 1967 and the Cab is a 72'. I am using poly mounts and when I dropped the cab on the chassis,I only snugged the bolts down,didn't torque them at all. So, it looks like I'm going to have to make some spacers to raise the cab up, like
washers,etc.... anyone else have a similar situation with their build?
Once I get the left bedside mounted, I can progress with installing the fuel lines and final mounting of the gas tank.at least I'm making progress.....have a good one!

well, yesterday at work, I made some 3" round 1" thick spacers for my poly mounts for my chassis, now the body lines between the bed and the cab are spot on. I am going to guess that the core support mounts will need the same spacers. well, at least I'm progressing forward, not backwards

If it make you feel better, Yeller has a 1/2" bodylift, just on the cab. Lines up perfect now.

Yeah, I'll really be cooking with Gas once I get the doors/left bedside and hood back from the painter's (He still has to cut/buff those out before I can pick them up) he pulled something in his back and hasn't been to his shop for a few days...... but, we're getting there...

keep plugging along, mounted my fuel tank rigid to the chassis last night, started running the fuel lines and filter. I have to get my core support mounted, so that I can run my transmission cooler lines. Then it's starting on the wiring debacle.....I changed my harness under the dash to use a modern 20 circuit ato (blade type fuse block) and then, route all my power window wiring. got lots to do, just have to "Chisel away" till I "Git R' Done!

I'd be happy just to get the engine fired up by then. It's probably going to be next spring before I even think about driving it. I want to have everything done before the "Maiden Voyage" it would be just my luck, some kid or someone would hit me before it's done and I'd be kicking myself for not waiting....and this gives me time to put away for that expensive "Mar-K" trim I want ($900.00) yeah, that's going to be a tough sell on the wife right there.....

Nice progress so far. Subbed. Wish I still lived in the kc area, I'd ask to come see your black paint in person. Nothing is better looking than a clean, black vehicle. imo. Keep up the good work.

Well, I got the last of my panels home yesterday without incident. started running the brake lines and fuel lines. those pre-bent lines should have been installed prior to mounting the engine in the chassis, guess that's a lesson learned, hopefully, someone else won't have to go through the trial and error I did yesterday getting them in place......fun, fun, fun ! NOT!
All I have left to buy is the exterior side moldings, Carpet, sill plates and my seat upholstery. I have most everything else imaginable...... well, I'll post some pictures later tonight once I get home.

well, didn't get to take any pictures, but I did hang the left bedside today.
I got some of my brake lines ran, but the front pre-bent lines are being a stubborn PITA. I'm moving onto the trans cooler lines and the final piece of the fuel line to run to the fuel pump. I have lots of small bits of things to do here and there, so I'll be busy for some time to come.

bought the trim and just about everything else I need to finish it up. got my "Comfort Grip" steering wheel, carpet, new chrome dome lamp housing and clear lens, the door sill plates are just about the only thing I have left to buy......pics later!!!

Ok folks, it's been a while since I posted any updates, but I've had my reasons. I just lost my little brother last Thursday, it was very hard on all of us and I'm gonna miss him dearly. any way's, here's a few pictures of what I've been up to.....Enjoy!

Thank you! It has been a rough week indeed. I'm working at a fever pitch pace trying to get as much done as I can before its too cold to be out
in the garage! I'll probably get it cranked up and make sure its ready for spring, then work on my upholstery this winter. Have a good one!

Okay,
I tried to post this earlier, but here goes. So, I'm mocking up all my A/C brackets, Compressor, ETC. I found that the stock brackets for the R4 Compressor don't like headers. It was fitting fine, until I had to bolt the side bracket that attaches to the side of the factory manifold ( I have headers) but, the header tube for the No.1 cylinder has a rearward curve that interfered with the "Horseshoe" notch of the bracket. I was concerned about stability and being able to keep the compressor aligned and maintaining tension on the belt when I had to cut off one side of that bracket. I had a welder friend of mine at work T.I.G the two halves together after I bolted them together solid, and had him weld a gusset to give it more rigidity. it lined up perfectly! now, all I have to do is make a permanent bracket for my alternator to tension that belt up.
I am running an Edelbrock, "Victor Junior" intake, the alternator upper bracket will not work, because the Victor Junior intake is much taller at the thermostat housing boss, and the upper bracket attaches from the water neck and to the top of the water pump, well, I made myself a "Turnbuckle" tensioner arm out of some stainless steel tuning and some rod ends from work, R/H and L/H threads, so you turn it either direction to tighten or loosen the tension. I polished the tube up on the lathe while I was at work to brighten it up a bit. I also made a new shifter rod to replace the sloppy stock shifter linkage. I also used rod ends for this, same idea, a turnbuckle so I could adjust it spot on. well, I have more work to do, but I'll post more later!
