Re: Bad Idea

Picked frame up from powder coater today.
After whatever was blasted off it revealed some pitting in different areas. I expected this and expected that the powder coat wouldn't "fill" the pits in. I'm not after drop dead show car status anyhow...just a nice look with durability. For $550, a weeks time, and the fact I didn't have to piss around trying to attempt to make it look this good I'm pleased.

Ill be over to pick that up in a bit

Your center cross member has exhaust pass throughs... is that something you did or was it like that when you got it? And what front cross member is that? Dont look stock...

Gotta weld in a couple patches where I had to cut out a couple areas where the PO torched notches for the headers and stuff and mine will be on its way to the same place.

Looks nice man... get Get-R-Done!

Re: Bad Idea

Trailing arm crossmember already had holes put in by previous owner. Nice to have I must admit.
Pretty sure it's stock front crossmember. Bolted in not riveted. No I didn't do it.

Re: Bad Idea

I ain't bustin my ass by any means. I don't want to get burnt out on this thing so I'm do little bits here and there. Almost all the parts are here. What went out for powder coat is back. So, now that the weather is gettin better I'll start to do more. I've used this by KBS for my rear end, trailing arms, new spindles, and little parts. Rust Seal is some tough ****. Gotta wait for final cure to see how I like the Blacktop topcoat. I rolled Rust Seal on with good results. Tried first coat of Blacktop with brush but last coats I rolled on.

Re: Bad Idea

Yep pretty hefty. Don't know the size of the rotors off hand. They use Astro van AWD front rotors. Same basic thickness (1-1/4") as fronts and using Wilwood D52 calipers.
