Re: 18,000 actual mile C30 on clist

Mine has 19000 miles on it and looks like 200. It spent most of its life on a golf course. So it got used plenty but not far.

Re: 18,000 actual mile C30 on clist

quick update... i sold the truck before it ever left the trailer - to my buddy who went and picked it up... didn't even have time to pay him!

here's some pics... he powder coated the wheels and bumpers, used some scrap weathered metal to build a flatbed and drivin the hell out of it...

as to the 18k miles - it's true... has to be... even the seat belts were still wrapped in plastic... and a build sheet of some sort still taped to the floorboard...

And to think how many times I started to go look at that truck, and thought it too good to be true.

Like as a buyer? Because as a seller there's VERY LITTLE WORSE than people who are just "into" that type of vehicle coming by in the guise of an actual interested cash-in-hand buyer just because they're interested in seeing the truck. Like a mini car show. [I have no idea what -your- intent was, just using it as a jumping off point]

One thing that is worse is when I'd list a part in the newspaper classifieds (dating myself a little here). You'd get a call basically like this: "You've got a WHAT? Really? I've needed one for years, I don't care what the price is!". Then the receiver falling on the table, tires squealing as he leaves... but nobody shows up. I never got that. And I mean for parts, not a car where I suppose you could drive up/by and see it's way worse than you thought or something.

Oh, also worse is when you find a truck and some dude dumps all over it even after you've bought it and posted that fact. Sheesh people.

You can also look at other key details. A big one is the rubber pads on the pedals. A true low mileage truck/car will show slight wear but be close to new. Most over 75,000 will look warn out. Paint on the steering wheel, areas where the keys rub when driving, seat material, etc., etc...
OP-looks like a great truck. Congrats!

Above poster-I change my pedal pads every 100K so you may get tricked on that if that is all you look at. The other things you mention are very valid.
