I would suggest installing the probe just above the radiator outlet which would be your lower hose going to the water pump inlet. This way, the radiator can disperse heat as needed before requiring the fan to kick on.

well what i came up with from numerous other installs and contacting hayden directly was to mount the probe on the fins right next to the inlet port of the radiator as to get as close to a reading of the block temp as possible i did get it installed and it works great the way the controller works itself is different than i had been lead to believe the way this particular controller works is you set the operating temperature you want the truck or vehicle to normally operate at and it maintains that temperature.

i was lead to believe that these controllers work similar to a tstat with a on at a max temperature set and off at a minimum this is infact wrong i want the truck to stay right around 195-200 degrees so i set the controller at 195 it comes on at 195 cools down about 5 or 10 degrees builds back up to the set temp and starts the cycle again and never lets the truck reach over the set temp which works out well because with the new stat at idle the truck never reaches higher than my 200 degree max i was looking for i had to rev the motor up to generate the heat needed to see how the fan controller actually worked tomorrow if the weather permits i will clean up my wiring and wire loom everything and take pics of the final install

Not a huge deal but around town driving you'll find the fan will cycle off/on more frequently because of the position of the probe at the radiator inlet vs. outlet but it shouldn't be a big deal unless you're pulling major amps every time.

nah they are actually fairly low amperage draw

ok guys got everything installed and ran relay box installed and wired, electric fan controller installed and wired,electric fans installed and wired and electric fuel pump installed and wired and also got the new reservoir installed heres final pics
