Re: Lets see your gauges setups
Wish the pic was better SIR. I have a set of gauges in my OT VW Karmann Ghia from Haneline. They have nice stuff.

Re: Lets see your gauges setups
the only time you get a bad GPS signal is in long tunnels or otherwise underground. not sure how this accesses the satellites but a regular GPS uses about 12 of them at one time and if one is blocked by trees or mountains, the accuracy goes down a bit until it gets full visibility again to the sky.
these GPS speedos must have some sort of antenna that has to be mounted outside. |

http://www.boeseengineering.com/Shop...lphin-gauges-1 I really cannot remember the exact thickness but it was near .25 inch. Each of the gauge holes was counter bored (?) about .125 so that the gauges set down into the insert. If making your own, I do not think the thickness is critical as long as it is thick enough to prevent flex, gauges do not have to be recessed either. Small gauges are 2 1/16 diameter, large 3 3/8 inches. I ordered mine with the brushed finish. Show us what you end up with when you finish. Hugh |

Re: Lets see your gauges setups
Sneaky sneaky. That looks cool but it would drive me crazy trying to look through one set of numbers to see the other gauges. Pretty incognito if you just glance quickly

Re: Lets see your gauges setups
Nothing special, just a "factory" cluster.

Re: Lets see your gauges setups
You know, I'm not a 'mod-a-holic' but I do like to change things up a little. Your original guage cluster really looks great! I wonder if it could be changed so that the indicators would be actual numbers instead of 'tick-marks' and if the back lighting could be changed to red.....THEN, I'd be sold on it for my truck. I've got an autometer setup thinking that it was what I wanted but I'm not very happy with the look. Now I'm looking for something different!....again!

Astronaut, really like that clean look. What all is involved in re-numbering/recalibrating the speedo?

The speedometer may end up being driven by an Abbot cable-x box or Dakota Digital's newer version. That will take car of the speedometer calibration. Jason handles the tach calibration.

Re: Lets see your gauges setups
Did a little more work on my gauge cluster today. The little bow ties have chrome behind them and the bezel is going to be chrome.

Re: Lets see your gauges setups
I got the Dakota Digital Retro gauges installed last week. All the readings are taken from the LS bus except oil pressure, they provided the pressure sensor.
There are multiple screens you can click thru on the left hand display and customize them as you wish. I converted the choke knob to a dimmer for the back light. TR
