Re: '53 duramax
Haha it wasn't that bad, took me about 2 hours per fender. I wasn't too happy cutting up $800 worth of fenders tho lol

Re: '53 duramax
Looks good. I like the box, mini tubs. Sucks about the fenders, you would think new fenders would fit better than that. But great job at fixing them.

Re: '53 duramax
Thanks everyone! I hope to try to get the bed loaded up and set on tomorrow so it'll finally be a complete truck for once lol. I'm really pushing to get it done by August and take it out to the Scheid Diesel show in Indiana.

Re: '53 duramax
Very cool build. I'm doing a 12-V Cummins in my 55, but using a shortened and narrowed Ram 2500 frame. Yeah, no instuction manual for this stuff, just make it up as you go along. I've developed the mentality that it's just metal, you can pretty much re-do anything that doesn't work out to your satisfaction the first time. I've been modifying cars for drag racing for years, so it doesn't phase me any when something doesn't fit out of the box, just modify as needed and trudge on. Looks like you're working a pretty quick pace now. Just takes time and money, right?

Re: '53 duramax
Time and money is right! I did get the hood fixed some today, I think it's atleast workable now. Couple shims between the rad support and fender brace and I THINK I might be in business.

Re: '53 duramax
Your truck is sweet bud. With a tuner in there it will be a beast! I kind of figured you were going to have a hard time with the intercooler. How about laying it under the cab about three four inches from the floor and then building a shroud on the bottom of it to "scoop" the air through it? Kind of like old corvette radiator principle. Maybe even adding an electric fan instead.

Re: '53 duramax
Great build. I didn't realize Dirtymax's are reverse flow (I am a ford Diesel guy by trade). Looking forward to seeing this done.
