Updates.
I really wanted 10 wide ralley wheels but just couldn't justify the cost when I already had 8s. So they were powder coated and mounted with 33x12.50 bfg all terrains. Finished with deep rings and caps.

Also I took a stab at recovering my front seats. It took a few extra times on and off but I managed to get through it.

The passenger cover was in really good condition. Drivers side had a large crack. But I wanted to change their color so off with the green.



And on with saddle and some extra padding.

Also I started putting the front end back together. Everything seems to be fighting me at this point. Had to trim the grill just a bit on the bottom to get it btw the fenders. After I got this all mounted. I only have one blinker working. Time to start checking grounds....

It was nice one day so I pushed it outside and got the front carpet and seats in.

Color is Paint code 516. Often called Tangier Orange.

Phase two has started...swap in a 5.3 with 4l65e. My goal is it has to be done by April.

Over the past year I bought a wrecked truck and pulled the drive train out of it.

Step one

Sold old motor. Guy who bought it wanted it right away. So I hurried and pulled it.

From what I've heard the 5.3 is a real Nice engine to swap in. I've only driven one once but it had good power stock. With s few small mods it can be a great power maker.

Can anyone help. Here is the end if my oil pressure sensor I need an adapter to 1/8 NPt. Anyone know what I need ?

I pretty much copied some other threads and used a 91 blazer 31 gal tank with pump inside.

I added a cross member and got the tank installed

I used a cut off wheel and grinder to modify the adapter for the transfer case.

I figured out the hard way they make two of these. And even though the directions don't mention it. This is the shorter version that you don't have to cut.

I got a great deal and a local guy installed the output shaft and a transgo hd2 Kit in my transmision for 50 bucks plus parts!

Ordered a pacific fab mount and got the motor bolted up. I was a bit disipointed when the mount showed up half the bolts they sent were lose in the box or missing completely. The box was also filled with packing peanuts. So I had to slowly pick through them.

But afterwards the mount worked well.

But in the process of this I ruptured a brake line. So gotta add those to the list of parts to buy.

Been trying to keep this project moving forward. We have had a few warm days so it has kicked me in gear. My harness and Ecu is out to kenny cash for rework. In the meantime I reworked a battery box into a drivers side configuration

I also bought some of the 170 dollar ebay manifolds. The look pretty nice and i have good clearance it looks like

Looks good, I really like the color choice. I am the 2nd owner of a 72 cripple black, numbers matching CST (35 years) and just can't bring myself to do the color change. Good luck on the drive train.

After much debate i decided on putting a cam kit from Texas Speed in my motor. So i spent a day this weekend getting it all swamped in.

Man that looks clean. It was a huge change when I went from stock to a even cam on mine. Also did fuely heads and roller rockers at the same time. Woke up my crate engine like crazy.
